If JCD hadn't missed that sitter at 0-1 we would likely have progressed to
the last 16 of the CL and would (almost certainly) be out of Europe by now.
As it worked out that defeat has partly led to the current fixture pile up.
Funny how things work out.

And the subsequent extension has to be for the good of Scottish football I
would have thought?

It was the sensible decision but I have the feeling it wont be required.

Do you think if it isn't required that the final fixtures shouldn't be
played?

I hope for the benefit of Scottish football they progress and win the UEFA
Cup. But to be honest they will have to raise their game to a level they
have never achieved yet this season.

No, deep down I know the Italians are favorites to beat us...then again so
were the Greeks, Germans and Portuguese.

A little more confident if anything. With having such a weak side out last
night I was a bit worried it might be similar to 1961 and the tie all but
over after the first leg . We have played better away from home as well in
this situation, so a it's not beyond the realms of possibility that we could
sneak through. They are still strong favorites though.

Mine too. I was only saying yesterday that I've never even seen any footage
of that final, which seems odd. Surely the cameras would have been there?
