Gianluigi Buffon has been named the best goalkeeper in the world for the second year running.   
Gianluigi Buffon has been named the best goalkeeper in the world for
the second year running.


The Juventus keeper has taken the award for 2007, voted for by the
International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS),
despite playing in Serie B for the first six months of the year.


It is the fourth time in five years Buffon has been recognised as the
No.1 player in his position.


Chelsea's Petr Cech, who won in 2005, was voted into second place,
ahead of Iker Casillas of Real Madrid and Spain.


Manchester United keeper Edwin van der Sar was fourth and completing
the top five was Brazilian Rogerio Ceni, who has also scored 78 goals
in his career
