Only way i can see them doing it would be building one tier upwards but that
would need a shitload of strengthening work done to the building including
any work on adding to the grade B section (which would take as much time in
planning permission being passed as it would building knowing the powers
that be!).If they wanted to go to 70,000 id have thought it would have been
better to move location than just add.And if building goes ahead i wonder if
they will have to groundshare or use hampden for a season.Similar things
happened at highbury when they wanted to expand (similar in the way they
have a graded part of the ground one side),in the end they had two
choices....either forget the idea or move location.

Indeed, but is still a small amount in terms of money towards their
stadium.Thats what i am trying to say though,if Rangers want to build a
stadium that size they would be better moving location.Remember though the
cost of building a 70,000 seater stadium in Glasgow will be huge, but even
building apartments etc on "the old ibrox" wont raise anything like the
amount of money raised in terms of building in islington.

Maybe they'll just tear out the seats and put in smaller ones.

Aye right. I can barely fit my wide load on to the ones they have already.

How many times are you going to swallow his pipe-dreams?

Remember King and Lewis' investments and how it would take Rangers to
another level? Rangers would spend a tenner for every Celtic fiver?
Supercasino?Moonbeams? lol

Not all Rangers supporters are gullible, there was a section chanting about
David Murray's lies not so long ago. He's desperate to leave but no-one's
interested in taking over.

Retaining the main stands Famous red brick facade at Ibrox park and
creating a new 70000 seater stadium in an almost city centre location
would certainly attract Multi Million Pound investments from many
interested parties.
How much of the area around Ibrox Belongs to Rangers , carparks etc?

Dunno, not that much of an expansive area around it though.

Surprised no-one has touched on this though: What about the Glasgow
Commonwealth games? Could there not be justification in building a Huge big
70K seater in a central location for the hosting of that?

Similar to what Man City did, could there not be some joint venture between
Glasgow and the money men at Ibrox? AFAIK the commonwealth games run outside
the football season, so there'd be no real negative side to it from a
Rangers point of view.

Unless I'm missing something?
