Problem is, there are some really poor cases in dire need of help but even 
when international donations are given, the lunatic regimes & religious 
zealots put it toward their own uses, to further punish the needy.

Having said that some of the needy are the same ones who are out on the

That's not the way I heard it. a few hundred are holding a demonstration 
after Friday prayers. The reporter described the mood as easy going and it 
had the whiff of rent-a-crowd about it. No mention was made of shooing 
anyone. Even if ithere was...this ignorance is caused by these beliefs being

Thousands of people are marching in Khartoum calling for British teacher 
Gillian Gibbons to be executed.


The 54-year-old has been jailed for blasphemy in Sudan after naming a teddy 
bear Mohammed but the crowds say her 15-day sentence is too lenient.

The protesters took to the streets carrying knives and sticks, chanting 
"shame on the UK" and "kill her by firing squad".

Gillian Gibbons escaped conviction on a more serious charge of inciting 
hatred, for which she could have faced 40 lashes or six months in prison.

The Foreign Office said earlier they were seeking "swift resolution of this 
issue" and maintain Mrs Gibbons is guilty of nothing more than a simple 
misunderstanding.

Imagine the following sentence, if anything similar was to happen to a 
lunatic bombing Muslim in this country.

"During her sentencing, UK consular staff were denied access to the court 
and riot police surrounded the building while the media were barred from 
entering".

about Christianity in a different time.
Answer a couple of points. Where do you think this 'basic lack of humanity' 
comes from...their genes?  You also didn't answer the point that someone 
like you, who has accepted the Christianity you were brought up to believe 
in, would probably have the same attitude as them if you were brought up in 
the same circumstances. I think religious belief is the main problem as it 
allows these people to be manipulated.

In England, there is the Blasphemy Act 1698, which imposes similar penalties
on insults to Christianity.  It probably wouldn't extend to naming teddy
bears though.

In Scotland, there is a similar act in 1837, although that hasn't been used
anything like as recently as the English equivalent.
