Amazing stat.... but is it true?
I read online in an OF match report today that Celtic haven't kept a clean
sheet in an away game in ANY competition for over a year???

True?

Would appear at least true for the SPL, quick look at SPL web-site ;

Saturday 9th September - Aberdeen 0, Celtic 1.

Looks like their only clean sheet in the league last season.

I'm sure they haven't kept one in Europe in the last year either. What
about cups?

True, but in the main they keep winning. Must admit though, I would love to
hear on Wednesday Benfica 0 Celtic...

Would be nice to hear that, and there is more chance if McManus
plays...he's fast becoming Celtic's most important player....

Overall the weak away defensive performance may be partly explained by
the overall style of play of WGS...he's more attacking than
MON....more willing to foresake defensive play for attacking
play...doesn't just go for physicality...although conceeding goals
away may appear like a weakness...it could well be considered a
stength of his approach....especially given that we've won the double,
made the last 16 of the Champions League and just beat the current
European Champions...

Depends if you consider the San Siro Milan game over ninety minutes... ;)

I guess it's called trying to look on the bright side of things...although I
might have difficulty trying to explain that concept to you... ;)

Maybe he's right... getting humped all the time might harm the likes of
'other Scottish teams' and their co-efficients. Being pish away is a
hard-thought-out tactic! ;-)

Oh I understand optimism...I just find the concept that conceding goals is a
strength difficult to grasp. I suppose you think you have gone backwards
over the last year as you were horsed 3-0 in Lisbon last year but could only
manage a 1-0 defeat last night? Never mind. :)

And here was me thinking that the coefficient was based on goals
conceeded....cheers for clearing up that misconception biz... ;)
