Worst performance from a Newcastle team pre Keegan?

Could have been 20-0

second half was abysmal, has to be said, but i honestly think we
played worse in the home game against liverpool, just man u were more
clinical than they were.

alan smith is a disgrace, the guy is just pure, utter, shite.
hopefully whoever comes in will see this and drop the fucker.

preferably off the tyne bridge.

Just as I thought we had hit rock bottom we do this against manure.
I suppose it's a bit like being an alcoholic, we maybe need to go
through this to get a proper fresh start.
Lets hope this really is as bad as it gets.

In the second half I thought I was watching the Keystone Cops playing for the Newcastle defence. It
was a poor performance started by Smithy's stupid and needless foul on Ronaldo... need I go into
details? I think I should not bore any of you with that.

My feeling is we got some poor players from Allardyce - Barton, Enrique, Smith, and Cacapa. We
should get rid of them. I'd be happy to give Rozenhal more time to see if he can learn from his
errors by playing alongside Taylor more. Beye should also be given more time.

Anyone happy to discuss?

enrique looked all over the place.
Counted and at least 3 of the goals came from attacks down their right
wing, balls over our defence. I think he has potential, needs time to
adjust and learn the language though.

They weren't all his fault. for the Rio goal the whole defence had to
shift to the left as Enrique had two manure players to mark.
its simple but they all panic like fuck!

Football is a simple game , its only managers with their zone marking
that are making things complicated. How hard is it to man mark
players?! if enrique had an over-lapping player, move to the left and
get one of the CBs to mark the guy he was marking originally.

Beye looks a dencent player too.

i disagree about enrique, he's showed promise at times, but he's young
and has been thrown in at the deep end, with a lot of expectation on
his shoulders. once he gets settled in the team, he should grow into a
solid defender for us (hopefully)

i don't think cacapa is that bad either, but the problem with our
defence under allardyce was that every game it seemed to be a
different configuration of players in the back 4, so no one's really
settled, or formed any understandings.

allardyce cried for patience, but when you look at his team
selections, he comes across as having been very hypocritical in that
regard with his defensive selections.

barton and smith were a total waste though, can't disagree there.
12million down the pan, unless a new manager can actually get
something out of smith. if he does though, he wont get it out of him
by playing him in midfield, that's for sure.

That looks like the same spew that's been appearing all over Usenet recently;
they're all forgeries. Ignore them, but if you have lots of them and can
filter on arbitrary headers, filter on their NNTP-Posting-Host headers to
delete them or mark them as read (but it's unlikely that you'll see *more*
from those addresses).

BTW, that one which you reposted appears to have been cancelled...

I respect your views. for my part, I noted that Enrique's passes up front were not clinical and he
tended to just kick the ball away far too much and too often. His balls were easily picked up by the
opponents. Have we noted that Man U attacked our team in the final quarter mainly through Enrique's
territory? That was where Ferguson most probably spotted the team's weakness... and he was right.
Cacapa... remember the 1-4 thrashing by Pompey. And he was not that good in the 2nd half against Man
U. Only Taylor stood out as a truly established class defender.

Another problem is our midfield. Owen and Martins have yet to receive decent through balls to enable
them to score goals. We need better quality and class of players and I hope the new manager will
recognise this.

Well... let's just say that something posted from Google Groups wouldn't take
that roundabout route to get back there :-)

Fake, or altered; but Google reports "no such message" when asked about the
message ID, corrected to the format normally used in messages posted via
them.

Copied or not removed. The IDs are of genuine postings (one from Eyan, one
from Chris F). I wonder if this is nothing more than taking a posting,
replacing the body, mangling the message ID, and re-posting via some
compromised computer or open NNTP server...

Genuine. Which means that the latter 40% or so of the Path header is fake or,
more likely, copied or not removed.

Not really :-)

Go easy on yourselves. It's more that we were outstandingly good, than that
you were outstandingly bad. When we're on our game, we can decimate the best
of them......look at 'The Roma Game©' for example.

You've just learned what everyone else already knows: We're Manchester
United - and we're fucking classy! :)

we'll see at the beginning of Feb, eh? ;)

seriously though, you are a class above us, easily.

we've been languishing for 3/4 years now due to crap managers and poor
boardroom leadership.

i dont care what the tabloids say, keegan can turn us around. he may
not be the man he was in 1992 any more, but nor are we the club we
were in 1992 either.

keegan and newcastle just seems to be a perfect fit, but i guess only
time will tell.

i wasn't convinced when i first heard the news, in fact i was a bit
annoyed, but hearing the guy speak about his plans, etc, he just
inspires faith.

i only hope it's not unfounded.

I hope you're right. I like the club and I like Geordies, and I hated seeing
bad shit happen to it/you. Of all the more deserving clubs that could have
bad run like this (cough...Liverpool!)....well, you know.

i'm sure i've had a go at you in the past in other groups, but i
retract all that, as you seem a rare breed as a man u fan.

you have humility!

but anyway yeah, hopefully in a season or 2 we'll be back up
challenging you again, we certainly have the resources for it now.

and i dont care what the tabloids say about the sacking of allardyce,
he was on borrowed time from the moment mike ashley bought the club
and his dour tactics and approach are what got him the sack, nevermind
the fucking awful results.

my problem with allardyce was never that he was a bad manager, just
that he was the wrong manager for us.

we aren't bolton, and we certainly aren't bolton, but with money,
which was what he seemed to be trying to aim for.

crap football, crap results....it just won't wash with us.

if we'd been winning ugle, sod what the papers say, we'd have been
happier.

but the fact we were goin to places like wigan and being set out to
defend and go for a 0-0.........

thats just blasphemous to all things geordie.

and to everyone who slags us off for being demanding fans....well why
the fuck shouldnt we be?

fans wgo arent demanding aren't fans imo.

theyre the terrace equivalent of steve claridge, journeymen just along
for the ride.

some people just like to have a specified destination.
