Redknapp would be a major surprise not least because he's always said
he'd never move north of Watford. I am convinced though that they have
a replacement lined up and that it will be announced before the week's
out

How the hell can he ignore the pleas from his loyal fanbase like this?
Unless he has no intention of ever becoming a manager - in which case he
should come out and say so - I can't understand why he won't at least give
it a crack.

How would you feel about getting someone who had absolutely no
managerial experience and hasn't even bothered to go after his
coaching badges? Shearer would continue the nightmare, if the bloke
really did any ambitions on a career as a manager why didn't he pursue
his coaching badges after he retired?
Example: Roy Keane did his coaching badges while he was still a
player!
