Irish Eyes Are Crying....
well, maybe not.
Carr quits international game
Newcastle United and Republic of Ireland defender Stephen Carr has
announced his international retirement with immediate effect.
The 31-year-old, who has 44 caps to his name, has called time on his
eight-year career with Eire after the squad failed in their attempts
to secure Euro 2008 qualification.
The Czech Republic and Germany have both already assured the top two
spots in group D with two games to spare and Carr believes now is the
right time to concentrate on his club football.
