What a pile of hoop.
Here's a survey I've just conducted.
Survey's are absolutely fucking pointless unless conducted by a
relevant authority.
Who the fcuk are Drivers Jonas Sports.
Aaaah....

Property fucking consultants...that's who. Well bugger me, that must
be highly fcuking accurate then.

Maybe they already bought the tickets and found something to watch on TV
instead.
Not surprising, as Ferdinand Ronaldive and Wes Brown didn't start, they
couldn't guarantee comedy moments during the game.

they were probably season ticket holders who had to pay for cup matches as
part of the package, whether they wanted to attend or not

A little. I'd have preferred to win. Sounded like a very poor performance.
But, as I always say about ko games, you can't judge a team over one game.

no, certainly not a "makeshift" one at that.

And you know what? As a Gooner, I agree with Le Dieu. Maybe MU reserves
did play badly. But if our kids had lost to Newcastle, would that make
them significantly less promising? Surely not.

Only in hindsight. Before ko I would have hoped he'd play a lot of the kids
alongside a couple of first teamers who needed a game. On paper that side
was strong enough to beat a Coventry side who'd lost 4-1 over the weekend.
On the one hand I'd have liked to win the trophy, but only as a 4th priority
and I'd have hated to put our first team through all the extra games to do
it.

I too would have liked us to have gone on a bit longer in the comp, or even
to have won it, because it gives our young lads something to strive towards.
They don't have much to look forward to, what with them being years away
from the first team and the big games that brings them. I think it would be
very selfish to not care about it.
Ask the young lads whether they find it 'worthless', I somehow don't think
they would. As United fans, it should be our duty to support the various
'tiers' of players we have.

LMFAO!!!

Honestly, the way that prick DRIVEL keeps going on (whenever the SCUM
lose) about how it was only the "kids" and "our youngsters" and "the
young lads" you'd swear none of them had ever kicked a ball till they
were 21. LOL And then he tries to convince people he understands the
game????
Most of these players were introduced to the club in their early teens
and they were introduced for a reason -- that reason being the rather
obvious one that they were able to play football, even at that young
age. So to *still* carry on about "the kids", as though these guys in
their early to mid-twenties had never seen a fucking football in their
lives, is laughable in the extreme, and betrays just how clueless that
fat dying cunt in his hospital bed in America really is.
Kids! PMSL! What a clueless dimwit he is!

I still believe we have a very good crop of youngsters, maybe some of
the best in the country but they are kids that have come from our
academy not purchased young talent from the likes of Barcelona etc.
The ages of the youngsters is one thing but what really counts is the
experience (or lack of). I believe there were around nine kids that
played against Coventry and they didn't have a dozen matches between
them. There's nothing wrong with an academy that can send a youth team
to the Youth World Champions tournament and comes back as Champions!

It's a valuable competition for the young players trying to break through,
but it's worthless to the first team players. SAF did the right thing by
playing that team. In a perfect world they would have won and gotten another
game or two, but I think they learnt a lot from that defeat. It's a great
wake up call to get beaten by Coventry and see that you are not a guaranteed
winner just because you put on the red shirt. Maybe they've got great talent
but that's useless if you are not willing to work hard. They won't make that
mistake agaĆn.
I'm sure we'll see Pique, Simpson, Evans and others in the first team this
season and Foster is one of the greatest keeper talents in the country.
People making conclusions about the standard of our academy based on a
defeat in the Carling cup are just making fools out of themselves.

He sent out a side that he thought would do well enough. Turns out he was
wrong on the night but you have to put the players out there in real games
to find out if they really can do it. And one result does not mean the same
players won't come roaring back in the future - they'll have learnt far more
from that defeat than they would have from another night in the reserves.
