Man Utd and Darth against unlicensed Grant
It is a joke that someone like Grant could not be bothered to study for this
qualification. Roman, Cuddly Pete and Avram are the Larry, Mo and Curly of
British football. Maybe the source of the outbreak of "bluetongue" is the
sh'te which comes out of Kenyon's mouth.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_utd/7014046.stm

Manchester United will oppose Avram Grant being granted dispensation to
manage Chelsea without a Uefa pro licence, BBC Sport understands.
Grant does not have the required licence and has a 12-week period of grace
to acquire the qualification.
If he does not Chelsea will have to appeal to the Premier League for special
dispensation or replace Grant.
United would oppose any dispensation request, as they did with Glenn Roeder
and Gareth Southgate.
Roeder received an extension on health grounds when he took over at
Newcastle, while Southgate was deemed to have had restricted opportunities
to gain a licence because of his international career after succeeding Steve
McClaren at Middlesbrough.
Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill was also granted an exemption after
undergoing a five-day refresher course.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, who is exempted from having a pro licence
because he was already managing in the top flight when the rule was
introduced, is understood to be a strong advocate of the qualifications.
Uefa and Premier League rules require anyone wishing to manage in the top
flight to hold the Uefa pro licence, which requires 240 hours of study and
usually takes a year to gain.
And a Premier League spokesman confirmed: "We have written to Chelsea to
remind them of these requirements regarding these qualifications."
Southgate, now in his second season at Boro, said of Grant's situation:
"Most of the older coaches were given special dispensation when the rules
were first introduced.
"I'm sure Avram has nothing to worry about because he has the backing of his
chairman Roman Abramovich."
Grant, who won league titles when coaching in Israel, has not held a club
manager's position for five years although he was in charge of the Israeli
national side during the qualifying campaigns for Euro 2004 and the 2006
World Cup finals.
He also holds coaching qualifications from Israel but Uefa is yet to rule on
whether it is of an equivalent standing to the pro licence.

With that ridiculous remark, mentalguy2004 shows his utter ignorance. Have
you never heard of "Grandad rights"? Sir Alex Ferguson was climbing the
league table with United, when some Premier League managers were climbing
the bars on their cots.

Coaches on the continent tend to do the Pro Licence before they manage in
their respective top divisions but in England the FA has had to tailor the
qualification to suit managers already plying their trade in the
Premiership. While an increasing number of British coaches have now passed
the Pro Licence, the more established coaches such as Harry Redknapp or Sir
Alex Ferguson, have been awarded an FA coaching diploma to recognise their
experience.

Only because Harry bought his badges under the counter and Fergie was too
pissed and illiterate to learn anything.

Never have I said this. But due to the country being flushed down the
toilet there is only one man fit to run this country and that is
General Franco, but that is not going to happen is it.

And an attempt to stop the old scoundrels from fiddleing the transfers.
No need to mention George Graham in this instance because it is old
news and something our club dealt with.

It would be overlooked because shouting, swearing and shitting in the High
St is expected of drunken Scottish tramps.

The tramp at the station punched him in the balls because passers-by were
tossing more money at Fergie than him.

Be a nice touch for the tramp to go through the process he now
believes so strongly in. Couldn't be arsed, too busy hitting the

Sir Alex Ferguson, the most successful manager in the history of the English
game, ever, went through the process by managing the first side to break the
Rangers/Celtic duopoly to win the Scottish league on next to no money and
followed it up by winning the European Cup Winners Cup with the same team.

Why don't you count up their respective league titles and see who has the
most?

The manuals are based on Fergies life story. Nothing else would make

Depends how and what you count I suppose. In percentage
success in all English competitions ( success compared to
attempts) i.e.......strike rate, the winner is probably the
recently departed.

I think it might be a touch cynical to always look for hidden
motives over admin rules like this. It might be simply a
matter of clubs wanting to stick to the rules, as laid down,
because they have merit. The new Chelsea man appears to have
little experience at this level, but they have all the playing
potential to be a potent force again very soon, with the right
leader.

If I was Fergie or Wenger, or their clubs, and voting simply
on what is best for them, I would be very happy to keep things
as they are and would be voting accordingly.

Which of course would be a stupid way to judge the most successful manager.
If Avram grant wins the league this season and is then replaced he would
have an unbeatable 100% record.

The fact that SAF has build 4 different sides winning 9 leagues, a Treble
and several doubles over 2 decades of course makes him the most successful
manager in English history.

Doesn't that method in assessing statistics make Kieran Richardson the
greatest ever English international goalscorer.

The fact that they have put so much into challenging for the league
each year is probably a better explanation of the 'poor' effort in
Europe. It takes a hell of a team to do both. Look where the last two
English ECL finalists finished in the league.

And me the best bowler in the history of my school's cricket, a two wicket
maiden, one pea roller, one full toss, never allowed to bowl again.
