the Owen factor (cynical me?)
for 2 games in a row he has lasted 55 to 60 minutes and then came off
because of his grown strain/pull.
This may be cynical on my part but is Owen only playing so he can get
picked for England in 3 weeks time, he needs an operation and we knew
that last week.
He is putting the operation off and it looks in my eyes he's putting
England ahead of Newcastle.
Sam has to get this sorted and if that means letting Owen go in the
January window that's fine with me. We want players here to play for us
first and then the national team. Not the way owen seems to be doing things

I agree. I'm beginning to get quite fed up of this now. He's out
injured, comes back, is ineffective at first, gets a bit better, plays
for England, returns back to Newcastle and is unfit again. Then out
injured and so it starts all over again.
We need to think about getting rid of him, we've managed (albeit not
playing that well!) without him for most of the time he's been a
Newcastle player. The problem is, who else is going to buy him? He's a
liability.

he needs a hernia op, theyre not that uncommon for footballers.
shearer had one in his last season, iirc, and was only out for 10 days
or so at most.
i think it's one of those injuries that are borderline as to whether
it will heal itself, or need surgery, and allardyce is just seeing how
it goes.
if he needs an operation, he'll have an operation, the club will see
to it, whether it affects england or not.
do you really think allardyce is overly concerned with whether owen is
100% fit for england or not?
i doubt he gives a fuck, frankly.
