Sad news if true. A colourful character; a confident man but probably
more sensitive than he let on; probably a lot more generous to other
clubs than he let on; a thorn in the side of the establishment with
their fawning adoration of the scum; and in footballing terms, no
matter what the criticism, a shrewd, proud, passionate manager, every
bit as great in the time he had available as, for example, Sir Alex
Ferguson, who needed nearly a decade to win anything in England and
nearly two decades to win anything in Europe.
The game is impoverished for his loss.
I can only hope Chelsea find someone to keep the ball rolling and to
offer yet another challenge to united this year. One thing is for
certain it won't be Liverpool threatening United any time soon anyway.
Of course there's always Arsenal and I'm quietly confident they'll do
it in supreme and glorious style this season which will be a wonderful
boost to My flagging spirits.
God help us all.

The sensitive ones are the one who whine about his personality.
He's great.

You seem to forget the MASSIVE investment by Roman, which lay 90% of
the foundations for whining Jose winning anything at all. I don't
think Fergie had that kind of massive financial backing, to be honest.
You also seem to think he's dead, hence you seem to be talking about
him as if it was his funeral, only mentioning his alleged positive
sides.
Don't forget, since he's still alive, you're also allowed to mention
that he was a cunt, he could be petty as a five-year-old, he really
didn't lose with any sense of graciousness most of the time, and was
petulant to the end.
> The game is impoverished for his loss.
Not really. It wasn't dead before he came.

Ah, yes, THERE IT IS!
Now I know why you're so sympathetic to José. You actually suffer from
the same illusions of grandeur, so when you see him quit, you actually
picture yourself in his place. That's so sad.
Awwwwwwwwwww.
> God help us all.
If he actually existed, I'm pretty sure he'd leave you standing in the
rain for a few weeks.

Gay, possibly. But one thing's for sure - if he exists, he has got
one evil, twisted sense of humour.
That's true of either scoopex or god.

I couldn't agree more, Pope.
Love him or hate him, he would always give you something to laugh about
during his interviews.
He is a true character and the EPL will be a much poorer place without him.
Good luck to him.
As an aside, it seems that the 'Director of Football v. Manager' issue has
claimed yet another major scalp. Similar problems at Tottenham with
Jol/Comolli.
When will they learn that this system leads to conflict.

Completely agree. The pressure is really on Benitez now because he no
longer has Jose as an excuse.
If he doesn't win the title this season it will be curtains for him in
June. From what I've been hearing on the grapevine the Americans
aren't terribly fond of him anyway, and rightly so, given the lip they
were getting from him the day after he made his balls-up in Athens. In
any case a traffic cop could do all that arm-waving and gesticulating
for a fraction of the price Beni is getting in wages. I can't see what
else he offewrs to be honest.

It seems to be going pear shaped at Chelsea and Jose's massive ego isn't

Should have read further, but what can anyone expect from a spud:
Orphaned as a child, Abramovich dropped out of college, then made a
fortune in a series of controversial oil-export deals in the early
1990s.
Translation: He was a player in the russian mafia. You don't come to

The only thing that is for certain is Pope doesn't want Liverpool to
challenge United because it would mean he might have to acknowledge Benitez

Not really very bright are you?
You questioned my use of the phrase 'self-made'
I pointed out the same phrase in *your* article
Simple really....
other than the fact that you then and go and put your own unsubstantiated
opinion on how he became successful.

I take it that you have limited experience in either life or business.

You seem to be the expert....but then what else can be expected from a
snivelling idiot who contradicts his own statements.
Perhaps when you grow up a little you might be able to give up on those
'Vaseline & Kleeenex' moments.
Until then...you are what you do...in your case be an exceptionally owned
wanker.
Dismissed!

...and that's the best you've got to hit me back with?
You are simply unable to repudiate my point.
You open your little cock-holster, get bitch-slapped back to the estate that
you infest, and then you try a (f)lame saying 'sad and pathetic'.
There's only one person here that's sad and pathetic, little boy -and
that's you.
BTW, although most Arse fans are decent blokes, most teams' newsgroups
occasionally get one muppet who embarrasses the other fans. In the case of
your team it was harrowman - who has conveniently disappeared whilst an
equally inept and unimaginative twat shows up.
Coincidence???
Unlikely.
