Owen injury
I have just heard that Owen has a groin pull and may lead to surgery.
Now the questions have to be asked did this happen while playing for
England?

if sam and the coaching staff knew about the injury why was he picked
ahead of a fit martins.

no, it happened last night, and isn't as serious as first thought,
according to allardyce. he said owen told him at half time it was a
bit tight, so he let him have another 5-10 minutes to see if it could
be run off, but it couldn't so he subbed him to stop it worsening.

Big Sam is good at getting the best out of fading players but he's never
proven himself with an open checkbook. The loss to Derby doesn't suggest
success in the next 2 or 3 years and I doubt he'll be given that long
anyway. If Man City qualify for a UEFA Cup spot this season and Newcastle
don't, I can see Sven in the hot seat next season.
