Hartlepool
At a loose end, so went down last night with a couple of mates. Barton
looked eager, to say the least (thought he was going to go a bit far
occasionally), Shola was decent, Martins looked bored and Owen still not
sharp, but the whole team seemed to gel a bit better, even with what seemed
to be about 376 substitutions (some of them looked like children and all.
Or maybe I'm getting old). Can't tell much from a friendly I suppose,
especially against a lower league team, but I'm mildly optimistic. Good
chant about Shepherd going down too.

Hartlepool is still a dump by the way. Went for a pint first in some bar my
mate said was OK - well, it would have been OK in 1992, last time he went.
Problem was, they obviously decided never to clean it again till he came
back. Bumped into the only bloke I know from Hartlepool on the way back to
he car too, which was weird.

well yes, but then parker wasn't shy when it came to yellow cards
either, so doubt there'll be much difference.

it's when he goes too far off the pitch i'm worried about, have to
hope alardyce can sort that out.
