J Barton vs the NU midfield
http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=470440&CPID=8&clid=43&lid=1490&title=The+Opta+Audit:+Joey+Barton

Considering he played for a team that had no proper strikers (a bit
like us if we take Oba out of the equasion) he did quite well ON the
pitch.

his skills on the field have never been in question really, he's a
good midfielder.

he's just a complete dickhole.

Re: J Barton vs the NU midfield
Wait until everyone's noticed how many of his passes go astray, you'll
be holding your head in your hands and despairing. He runs about a lot
and looks the part but his basic football skills are wanting.
Don't allow him to take any corners, free kicks or penalties.
His brother is inside for sticking a mountaineering ice axe in a kid's
head, Joey shows a similar lack of impulse control.
   You have been warned.

He is a total unquestioned head-case but at least he has taken the first
step in admitting he has made mistakes...now we just need to see wether he
can get himself sorted out and do his talking on the pitch. he is a very
good player and in my opinion a better player than Parker who had all the
same traits as what has just been mentioned here but no end product to
boot. As long as he tackles and scores goals his passing will not be
judged too unfairly. the team has already strangthened the back line by
getting shot of titus so we needed more goals which hopefully Viduka and
Barton will provide.

Onecap warning
He admitted to making mistakes and sought help a couple of seasons ago,
he's still making them though.
He doesn't have the self control to not get into trouble again, he's an
accident waiting to happen and
his agent's been throwing petrol on the fire filling his empty head with
all sorts of crap about how good he is.
McClaren made it worse.
Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock, tick............kaboom he's done
something else that warrants his club taking disciplinary action.
It's like someone buying a dog in fully aware that the owner's selling
it because it keeps biting him.
If he wasn't a footballer he'd be inside for GBH or worse, look at his
brother, they share the same character flaw.
That's it, i'm posting no more on the subject, consider yourselves warned.
