Against Reading
Do all Newcastle players have shooting practice in training?

Reading had only two shots at goal and netted one. Newcastle had about 12 shots and netted nil
(apart from Owen's offside goal). Must be worrying times ahead until the players get good shooting
practice.

Newcastle defence - have you noted that they tend to surge towards one side and leave the other side
open? For Reading's goal, there was strong play on Reading's right side and Newcastle defenders
surged towards that side, leaving acres of space on the opposite side for Kitson to score the
Reading goal. Also the defenders passing was at most shite... Harper's kicking was at times shocking
and amatieurish.

Training methods and strategies are now being brought into question - and the ultimate
responsibility for that lies with Roeder, himself an unqualified coach to begin with.

How tiresome... the only good thing to come out of the match was Owen playing for 95 mins and milner
edging towards footballing maturity.

Let's hope for a better season next August now that there's no Europe and more concentration on the
Premiership. My view is get rid of Roeder and all the crap players first of all before rebuilding a
better team.

We have some experience with that :-)

I thought I heard on FSW during the match that the Mags had
qualified for UEFA next year by "winning" the Intertoto
this year. Either that or NUFC had applied to the
Intertoto again this year. I wasn't paying close attention
- I was having trouble telling the blue stripes from the
black stripes with most camera angles on my TV, and
apparently so were some of your players.
