You spent an hour trawling the internet trying to profile me and that's the
best you can do? You'll have to give up your stalking merit badge if you
keep this up Stephen!
Not everyone is stupid enough to post personal details about their
unemployed arse online, Mr Jones...

Man City agree deal for Kompany -BBC
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_city/7574920.stm
Another central defender, and what does this mean for Richards and Onuoha?
Perhaps they are headed towards competing for the right-back spot that
Corluka will soon vacate.

Do you mean Corluka to centre back or Corluka to Spurs? This only makes
sense (to me at least) if Corluka is on the way out, as we're knee deep in
good centre backs. Right midfield and left back are the glaring holes at the
moment. If Williamson is still around, I'd play him at the moment.
I hope Richards get moved to right back, I think that's his best position.

Re: Man City agree deal for Kompany -BBC
I think Corluka to Spurs is a deal that will go ahead now, with Richards
moving to right back.
Perhaps there's no progress regarding a right sided midfielder and MH is
thinking that for now Richards would be our best bet at getting width on
that side, just as he was doing for England.

Kompany is a cracking signing, my colleague Horst (Hamburg fan) is spitting
feathers this morning.

From the club:
"Kompany can, and often has, played as a defensive midfielder for the
Bundesliga giants and becomes Mark Hughes' third signing for the Club."
I reckon he's in to replace Gelson.

Hamann's not getting any younger, but I would play Vince over Gelson any
day.

Fernandes had a great season when he came in last year. He was bought
as one for the future but cemented himself as a first team stalwart.
He has a great future and I cannot really see any reason why he
shouldn't be playing wekk-in, week-out. Did I miss something.

Well, I didn't see the Villa game, but I heard on the radio that he was at
fault for at least one of the goals. Sky Sports ratings:
http://www.skysports.com/football/match_facts/0,19762,11065_3035620,00.html
gave him the lowest marks of all 22 players. He is a decent player, and I
hope he'll continue to improve. But Kompany was excellent yesterday and will
be first choice for that role. Notice that when Richards was carried off it
was Hamann - not Gelson - who was brought on.

Yep, I noticed but we had enough attacking options on the pitch and
Hamman is well suited to that role for 30 minute spells. If it had
happened after 20 minutes it would probably have been a different
player coming on.
I agree that Kompany had an excellent debut and played really well, if
he keeps up that standard he is likely to keep Gelson out in the short
term. Gelson is good enough for the premiership and will get his
chance again and I would much rather see a right-winger come in.
Ireland had an excellent game over-lapping with Corluka but we still
need a player there to make that position his own.
