Like many other people I have been watching the games but today I watched the Olympic football match between Brazil and Argentina - just to see Jo. He came on as a substitute. Up to now all the different sports I have watched have been conducted in a fairly sporting manor but the overpaid footballers were a let down for what used to a reasonable sporting activity. Two red cards, players delaying free kicks and throw-ins by taking the ball away and dropping it yards from where it was needed; they were unacceptable representatives of the beautitiful game. In the context of the Games it stood out so much. I know the teams are deadly rivals but that's no excuse. Our well paid snooker players are a wonderful example of sportsmanship - even owning up to infringements, so money is no excuse. And you can't go down to the local for a fair game as the youngsters are copying the professionals. All been said before - but it's so sad.
you failed to tell us the most important thing!! how did JO do?

It was a scrappy match and Jo received poor service but he worked hard to get in the game. He didn't get a chance to show of any attacking skills and he wasn't happy being a spectator.
