Franks right you know.....
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_3652638,00.html

Reasons for firing Sven (albeit brief)

No mention of his lavish lifestyle around town - lack of commitment in
moving here (staying in top hotel rooms during his tenure etc etc) dodgy
transfers ( Bianchi for £ 8m ? etc)

Re: Franks right you know.....
Why are you being so unfairly critical?
Sven's a multi-millionaire, what's wrong with him living like that? It
doesn't make him a bad manager.
As for staying in a hotel in town, it's the same as renting a furnished
house but without the hassle of employing a housekeeper to do his
washing, when you're a wealthy as Sven a suite in a hotel with
everything done for you
makes sense. Michael Owen's so wealthy he can commute from Chester to
Newcastle by helicopter FFS.
As for players bought, because Shinawatra dithered about looking at the
books and making an offer, Sven was brought in with only six weeks to
get the team ready for start of the season. I've said it before, look
across town at how may duds that Baconface has bought. At least Hughes
has a month to make purchases before pre-season starts, Sven was never
given that luxury.

Maybe Sven was a bit in the comfort zone and was too soft with the players
and that was reflected in their performances - they certainly didn't have
much stomach for a fight - remember Sheffield -Boro etc ?

No problem with the man having a lavish lifestyle - as long as it's earned.

I put the poor second half of the season down to:

Richards, Johnson and Anouha getting injured
Sven's poor buys in January
Elano's catastrophic loss of form

Even so we were only two wins away from having a great season

Anyway, it's in the past now guys we need to look to the future. The king is
dead and all that...

Fuck me, fickle or what?

He got you what he set out to do.....a top ten finish, highest points tally
in years etc. He suffered for having a too brilliant a start to the season,
that's all. He also gave City fans their pride back....pity some have chose
to throw it back at him.

No doubt Sparky will be great for you (he learned from the best), but Sven
did NOT deserve the sack....however you dress it up.

Correct.

But if they hadn't had that brilliant start to the season and THEN
failed in the 2nd half would he have deserved the sack?

The true test of a manager is how he deals with adversity. Sven dealt
great with the initial adversity of building a squad at the last
minute and winning all the doubters over. Everything ticked along
nicely.

But after things started to go a little off he had half a season to
turn around a rapidly developing mess and he just couldn't do it.
Didn't even come close to doing it.

Whatever else you think (and yes he did meet the target, and yes he
gave City their pride and respect back) that was WORRYING.

I can see Frank's point too.
