This story is so bizarre that you're instinct tells you it's the usual
tabloid bollocks. But I've read in the past that Fwank regards people like
commodities - everyone is disposable and replaceable - and this story is not
inconsistent with that.

Same here, i'm normally very resistant to rumours, but something about
this story makes me think there
is a vein of truth running through it.

Manchester City slam allegations regarding the chairman
At last, something that the chairman will refute http://tinyurl.com/592raj

from mcfc.co.uk

"The Club have taken the unusual step today to issue a statement
regarding reports in some of this morning’s national newspapers.

The stories suggested that our Chairman, Dr Thaksin Shinawatra, has put
the entire first team squad up for sale and has written a critical
letter to all the players regarding their performances this season.

Dr Thaksin exclusively told mcfc.co.uk “There is absolutely no truth to
this story or any of the allegations. I appreciate the progress and
performance of the whole squad, managed by Sven-Goran Eriksson, this
season.”

Dr Thaksin also confirmed that other claims in the story of Deputy
Chairman John Wardle apologising to players for selling the club were
also without any foundation.

Last night Dr Thaksin dined with Sven together with the City players and
staff at sponsor Singha Beer’s dinner to promote the game with the Thai
All Star team in Bangkok on Saturday

Manchester City spokesman Paul Tyrrell said, “We are currently taking
legal advice regarding these news reports and will pursue those who
continue to run or repeat this false story and its allegations without
the Chairman’s rebuttal.”

TFFT

Fwank's comment "I appreciate the progress and performance of the whole
squad, managed by Sven-Goran Eriksson, this season" is interesting. That's
the 1st positive thing he has said about the team since the Sven thing blew
up. I get the feeling Sven will stay now because a) Fwank can't find any
other top drawer manager who's interested and b) Sven, despite all the crap
hurled at him, wants to stay and finish the project.

I agree, and now the UEFA Cup place is confirmed i hope they can get
their arses in gear and start preparing for next season.

Sometimes an article in the papers is just SO bizarre....that it could be
true. I mean the guy is certainly an idiot, despotic looney bastard...and I
wouldn't put it past him. Hope it's not true though. You especially don't
want to go selling the family silver (aka the academy produced players)

Translation: We've fuck all to say about the FA Cup between two teams that
are outside the "Big Four" so the sports desk knows fuck all about them.
We've done the Champions League Final to death, let's make some shit up
about Manchetser City.
