Sven's post match....
Says it all,...

from BBC 606 website...

'Just listened to his after match comments and there was no apology to the
fans for what was an absolute shambolic performance.does he care,do the
players care....coz I'm hurting after that and they don't deserve to be paid
after that.someone should come out an offer an apology for that
embarrassment and Sven should be the one to do that.'

'In reality the players showed they don't give a monkeys about the manager
and they suffer from a severe lack of professionalism.

I am sure that Sven will have no explanation and will sail off to the land
of compensation without a look back.

The players should be ashamed of themselves and offer to refund the ticket
costs to all the people who went today.'

'Remind me why everyone wants Sven to stay? After spending £46m of someone
else's money he can't even motivate the team to win against a mediocre Boro
side in his last game with City.'

Unfortunately I have to agree with this bloke (was it you, Jimbo?!). I don't
have any time for this theory that Fwank is to blame for this utter
humiliation. Sven can only make his point by winning and if the players
wanted to support him, they would have played their nuts off, as this may
have been their last opportunity to show support. I have supported Sven, but
the evidence of today is staring us in the face. He simply can't motivate
players. What other explanation is there? I would also question his tactics.
Hinchcliffe reckoned he'd gone 4-2-3. We play defensively all season, and
then when we're down to 10 men he goes to a balls-out attacking formation??
Like Spurs did successfully against us, the best formation for 10 men is
4-4-1. What's that old adage about to win you need to win the midfield?

Interesting co-incidence - wasn't it Southgate who slagged off Sven's
motivational abilities in his book?England were losing and Southgate said of
Sven's half time talk something like "we needed Winston Churchill but we got
Iain Duncan Smith". Looks like Southgate's had the laugh on that one.

Re: Sven's post match....
Don't forget the obvious though. The squad's been hit hard defensively
through injury and after 15 minutes the team lost Dunne and went down to
ten. Sun was starting the game as were Ireland and Vassell, and losing
Benji after 13 mins didn't help either.
To me it's a case of a poor squad inherited from last season, a few
hurried, and initially successful, purchases only six weeks before the
season started, not Sven's fault, he joined as soon as the chairman took
over.
The January transfer window failed to properly provide additions to the
squad, not for the want of trying, but rather clubs with quality players
don't want to let them go.
It's armed with the information he has gained about the players he
inherited and those he purchased that Sven should be trimming and
reinforcing the team this summer.
Alas the chairman is greedy and thinks he has the right to enjoy the
transformation we saw initially, over the whole of the season.
We started at too low a level for one summer's purchases to transform
the squad from relegation fodder to top six material.

If it was 2 or 3 nil, I would have said exactly the same as you MM. But when
you ship 8 goals against a team who've not scored more than 2 in any other
game this season, then the problem is down to something more fundamental
than 10 men or a few poor players.
