Agreed. This is very depressing.

Well done, Frank. We've been crying out for progress and stability for
years, and now we've got it, you take it away. Fool.

One side of me can't help but feel we've got what we deserve. We were too
happy to take the money when Frank stepped in, but now we know the high
price we've paid. Frank is a mad dictator. You would have to be mad to sack
a manager that has the enthusiastic backing of the fans, the players and the
pre-Frank City hierarchy.

Re: Sven To Be Sacked-News 24
Sven must be given a reasonable time to do the job.

If reports are true that Frank is interfering in team selection he
will have little success in bringing any top manager to CITY and if he
is involved he must accept some responsibilty for the teams
performance.

I have not bought my ticket for next season yet!!

Re: Sven To Be Sacked-News 24
Quote from Sven's agent Athole Still -

"It's just developments over the last couple of days. If Dr Shinawatra
was going to give his ringing support we would have heard it over the
last couple of days."

He continued: "I could be wrong - I hope I am wrong because there is a
job half-done there and I have no doubt that Sven-Goran Eriksson left to
manage in the way he manages and to select his own players who he
purchased, would have been challenging UEFA next year or maybe even
higher."

The last two lines suggest that the chairman may have been giving his
"input".

Re: Sven To Be Sacked-News 24
How mystifying.

Good managers, nevermind great ones, don't grow on trees. There's
plenty of average managers out there. Sven is clearly above average
though, hard to see anyone of his qualifications & ability that can be
brought in.

Who would /want/ to come after seeing Sven achieving and yet still getting
sacked? Who the hell wants to work for an egotistical megalomaniac

Re: Sven To Be Sacked-News 24
City statement doesn't contradict any of the press speculation. I think that
says it all unfortunately:
Manchester City spokesman Paul Tyrrell said: "Dr Thaksin Shinawatra recently
stated that there would be a full review of the club at the end of the
season. The situation remains the same. Sven-Goran Eriksson, the players,
board and staff of the football club are fully focused on the two remaining
games of the current campaign."

Manager Sven-Goran Eriksson confirmed in his regular weekly media briefing,
"The Chairman and I spoke at the weekend, but I do not wish to comment any
further. The game with Liverpool on Sunday is most important and we are
working very hard to prepare properly for the trip to Anfield and our final
game of the season at Middlesbrough."

The other side of the coin is that no-one's stated for CERTAIN that he's
going. That gives Frank an out if the weight of media, player and fan
reaction is enough to persuade him of what a cock he's being. My dad
however, who has dealings with Thai businessmen on a regular basis, says
that it tends to be that the more people tell them they're wrong, the more
they dig their heals in. That is of course a racial stereotype and we all
know they're not always true, for instance I'm white but my cock is huge.

As you all know, I was not in the Sven camp when he joined and had
serious reservations about him being our manager. I'm happy to say
that these reservations proved unfounded and that Sven was quite
possibly the best manager for the job - and still remains so. Frank is
making a BIG mistake. We are not Man U fans who will just suck up any
old shit provided the club still wins trophies. I like to think City
fans have a special relationship with the club - that we did not
choose to support City but we were chosen to support City.

We got rid of Swales, we can get rid of Frank. This is OUR City, not
his.

Bump. Has everyone signed this? Only up to 4000 sigs. There are about 2m
City fans around the globe, so that's about 1.2m online. Let's work!

How?

I thought about fans simply sending in a "Don't sack Sven" postcard to
Frank. 50,000 postcards might make him take notice. But how do you get the
word out? We're such a diverse group.

He's not even in the country anyway.
As far as the Sven issue is concerned, it appears from what is leaking
out that after last weekend the
relationship between him and Shinawatra is finished.
There's an interesting piece in today's Independent

The first home game of next season should be interesting, my disapproval
will not be lessened over the summer ;-)

The Bilic story is already dead - he has signed an extension to his

Not really...how about sending the suggestion to the MCIVTA group.

And if I send a postcard, and all the City fans on here send a
postcard and we tell all our City supporting mates to send a postcard
and they tell their friends....

Right I'm off to the Post Office.

The "Don't Sack Sven" campaign starts here. Today.

Funny how this blew up after the season ticket renewal deadline and after
the last home game. So no avenue left to make a protest. Shafted and
stitched up in one move.

We are all a bit pathetic really. We (and I include myself in this) just
shrug our shoulders and watch from the sidelines while this madman destroys
our club. I was hoping the supporters clubs would organise a protest or
something, but there's no leadership there. If this were Liverpool, Frank
would have received 100's of death threats by now. Having said that, I guess
he's used to sending those out himself, so maybe that technique wouldn't
work in this case.

Looks like you and I were right to question the wisdom of having 'Frank'

Remember Liverpool carried out due diligence on him before he washed up at
Eastland's.

It's all so sad and so city.

You can't just assume worst case scenario, you have to at least reach out
for what you want to achieve.

Look at the positives. He's got the full backing of the fans, the players
and (from what I read) the City hierarchy, apart from the Shinawanker
appointed amateurs. Given that he sees Shinawanker very infrequently, seems
to be enjoying his 'project' and in any case has a contract, there's a good
chance that he'll stay.
