Bag of....
...You know what !
Same old problems that have been discussed in here lately (by me and Chas
mostly - everyone else seems to think nowts wrong !)
Inability to put 2 passes together, No combative midfield , defence under
pressure (again), lack of creativity
all comes together against Sheffield FFS -managed and coached by ex reds
cant wait to get the abuse at work tomorrow from the rags.
thanks blues, you've let me down (again)

Poor from back to front. I don't think anybody provided enough to
warrant being in a top premiership side. In the first half we looked
more like a division one side and was definately playing at their
level.
This is going to be a long 5 months.

Re: Bag of....
I don't think that there's nothing wrong, i'm just not getting anxious
about it. It's too early.
To me this season's a squad building season, if we can gain a european
spot for next season i'll be overjoyed, if not, so be it.
I will demand much better next season though.

Re: Bag of....
Well, I haven't got to many matches recently - but I went today. We were
very poor, but the first goal was caused by balloons. And Joe Hart had had
plenty of time to clear them - he cleared them fast enough after the goal.
Thing was, they were OUR balloons. Bugger.
SU fought harder and pressed better than we did. But they also bullied a
lot - particularly Elano - and were allowed to do so by the ref (Wiley).
Best thing was seeing Sturridge score - look forward to seeing more of him.
Nice weather too.

Re: Bag of....
Have to agree thought we were very poor today. Dont think their goalie
touched the ball once. There was no urgency about our players and
consequently SU beat us to the ball 90% of the time in the 50/50 situations.
Dont know whether its just me, but Svens multi-million pound signings seem
to be getting worse by the week. Corluka is an absolute disaster at the
moment and should be rested, Petrov loses the ball too often, as does Elano,
as does Fernandes Bianchi is gone, Garrido dropped and Bojinov injured.
Really think we need fresh blood to pep things up a bit, plus we need
Johnson back as he seems to be the key between Hamman and the rest of the
team going forward,
Really disappointed was hoping to do well in the Cup this year.

Re: Bag of....
I was talking to some Sheffield Utd fans on the train after the match and
they were saying how surprised they were that they were given so much time
on the ball. I tend to agree, we don't close players down. I know it's hard
work, but it works.
I'm frustrated with our seemingly total obsession with possesion, even at
the expense of taking and creating chances. Few wanted to take a shot when
the chance arose, it seemed like we had to walk the bloody ball into the
net. And this rediculous passing of the ball back and forth from left to
right across the back 5... I'm surprised we don't get booked for time
wasting.
Still, great to see Sturridge score. Another feather in the fantastic
academy's cap. We were MUCH better when we played 2 up front, I hope Sven
takes note.

The really funny thing was that the balloons had "It's just like watching
Brazil" on them! FFS. It was more like watching Andorra.

Listened to the match on 5Live yesterday and Chris Waddle was saying pretty
much the same thing. Sven seems to want "total football" in the Cruyff mode.
No long balls, plenty of possession and passing. Waddle said what City lack
is pace. Not necessarily in the players themselves but in the way they play.
City don't seem to pass and move quickly.
Also, in the earlier part of the season, the pitches are like green carpets
which makes City's current style work. Now that the weather has turned and
the pitches are heavier, players like Elano just can't play their natural
game. I also think Elano may be suffering "Wet Tuesday night in Grimsby"
syndrome - he'd rather be playing beach footie on Copacabana than mud
wrestling in Sheffield.
