Bianchi set to clinch Lazio move - BBC
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_city/7205324.stm
"Manchester City striker Rolando Bianchi is in Italy finalising a move
to Serie A outfit Lazio.
The 24-year-old Italian has struggled to settle since signing for City
in an £8.8m move from Reggina in the summer.
Bianchi has complained about the English lifestyle, and boss Sven-Goran
Eriksson has decided to him go.
Torino had hoped to bring Bianchi back to Italy, but Lazio have made a
move and he is now set to undergo a medical and sign for an undisclosed fee.
Giacomo Mazzocchi, a Lazio spokesman, said: "There are still all the
practicalities left to sort out, such as the medical and signing the
contract, but the deal should be completed on Wednesday or Thursday."
Lazio are 14th in Italy's top flight, two points clear of the drop zone
and will be hoping for a boost with the arrival of Bianchi, who has
scored five goals in 24 appearances."

Unbelievable. I hope we have a suitable replacement lined up. If Dr S
isn't coming up with the cash, SGE is going to get mighty peeved and then
we'll be back to square one.

Sven MUST have a replacement lined up. He's not that daft.

Bojinov?
To be honest I think that Bianchi was an expensive mistake on the part of
SGE. We're lucky to sell him on, he's clearly unsuited to the EPL.

The only mistake I can see is why SGE didn't give this guy more of a
chance. I would expect him to go to Lazio and score a hatful. At the
moment it is not looking good for Sven's inspired signings. Geo cannot
get a game, Fernandes was bought as one for the future yet is playing
more than Geo. Bianchi wasn't played for a long time yet has still
managed 7 starts 4 goals with 12 appearance off the bench. A full 12
starts from the bench, how you can judge consistency from that, I am
not sure although Peter Crouch proves that comment wrong regularly.
Garrido dropped Corluka looking very good but then played out of
position. In fact only Petrov and Corluka looking the quality we
really need with Elano starting well but increasingly looking tired and
now even he has been played out of position.
Still no sign of a right midfielder to come into the equation. I said
before the season started I would be happy if we finished eight and I
still think looking at the quality of the sides in the Premiership that
is where we are headed. With a decent right sided midfielder we have a
chance at fifth or sixth but if we don't get one then I will settle for
eight.
Come on Erikkson prove me wrong.

Re: Bianchi set to clinch Lazio move - BBC
I bet it's as much to do with what he's reported to have said in the
Italian press and his attitude in training.
To me he looks as unsuited to the more physical English game, where you
need to be big and/or quick, as Samaras does.

Perhaps we could do worse than recall Miller; he gives us another option,
and e's done well for the Baggies...

Re: Bianchi set to clinch Lazio move - BBC
It's now on the City website - loan until the end of the season then a
permanent deal.

Or maybe Sturridge. Just fired in a hat trick after an 8 month lay off!

Sigh.
So where's the signings? A month ago every player in the world was
being associated with City. Now we're net sellers.
Our new-found status as one of the super-rich clubs seems to have
disappeared as quickily as our form.

Hans Backe's Views
from mcfc.co.uk
"January is a difficult transfer window, most of the time you get
players other clubs dont want, but if you want to go for the top class
players, a lot of them are still in European competitions."
"You have to find the right player if you are going to buy otherwise you
have to wait until the summer. We will not buy an average player just to
bring someone in."

This means " we've looked for a replacement, have identified possible
targets but their clubs are reluctant to let them go unless we stump up wads
of cash. There's no point paying over the odds for a player who might not
fit in which is why we've fucked Rolando off back to Italy. For a small
profit I might add."
