It must be only me .....
Who wasn't happy with us playing 4-5-1 at home against IMO a very average
Liverpool ?

we looked like we are reverting backwards to last seasons fiasco when Stu
was in charge and we played the same formation ?

Precisely why I never renewed last season - where was the desire to go and
win the game ?

I cannot stand negativity -especially when we are at home, the onus is on us
to win the F*****R not try to stifle and hold on like we are playing away -
I thought it was a S**T match , and I don't want to see that style of
football every home game.

Ok I will stop there - I can see the flaming about to start !

All moaning aside...

best wishes for very happy new year to one and all....even (grudgingly...
Reds)

Re: It must be only me .....
It's certainly not me Jim.

I hardly think you can compare one game with a whole season with a
comparably poor team.

If we'd gone out with a more attacking 4-5-1 rather than the defensive
one we saw we'd've lost the game, and at the end of the season that
point may be important.
We've been mis-firing for a few weeks since Elano and Johnson got
injured and are desperately in need of fresh legs in the squad.
Sven's only been in charge for twenty league games of which we've WON
TEN, DRAWN SIX and LOST JUST FOUR.
Chill out and enjoy the positives so far.

I'm looking forward to us coming good again soon. ;-)

Re: It must be only me .....
You're right Mad, we should step back and look at the big picture once in a
while.
Sven came with an impressive record and he's laid the foundation for one in
the first half of this season for Manchester City.
Where were our previous Manager's at this stage of each of their seasons
since moving to Eastlands?
How often did we have more than 33 points by the end of January, never mind
New Year?
Sven's doing a great job and I can't wait to see Castillo play and score for
us.

Re: It must be only me .....
Fair enough,

but IMO that style and formation would be fine away from home (when we are
trying to nick something)

but at home we should be putting them under pressure and getting them on the
back foot and being positive in trying to win the home games ?

I think it's pretty negative stuff to try and stay in the top 10 by being so
negative.

Re: It must be only me .....
I think it was just Sven's assessment of who the opposition were and the
state of the squad re: form, fatigue and injuries.
I'm quite sure that if we'd played Liverpool in October he'd've sent
them out with a much more attacking formation.

Has anyone noticed Sven's let slip a couple of times that he's confident
of bringing a couple more players in and that they'll cost a lot of money?

Re: It must be only me .....
I agree with Mad, Sven knows we haven't got the strike force or the midfield
strength to take on Liverpool (even if it is at home) which is why he sent
out the team he did. To my mind they did the job they were asked to do and
we're still in the top six.

Where were we this time last season?

Re: It must be only me .....
On a more positive note - we are passing and supporting the front men
better in tonight's match...

http://myp2p.eu/broadcast.php?matchid=4130&part=sports

(Sopcast seems to be pretty consistent)

However,Just Watching onuha getting skinned again at right back is a bit
worrying.
