A Greater Manchester police officer has been forced to resign after he was
seen wearing a British National Party (BNP) badge at a football match.

Stuart Janaway, 36, from Irlam in Salford, wore the BNP badge to a game at
Old Trafford in September 2006, while he was off duty.

Although I hate the BNP, why should any idividual be forced to resign
because of the political party he belongs to?

Do we not allow free speech nowdays?

If he had worn an "anti-nazi league" badge he wouldn't have been forced to
resign, and I doubt membership of that shower of shite would preclude you
from being a copper.

The BNP is a legal and legitimate political party, just like the Tories,
Labour, Lib-Dem, Greens etc. If you want neutral Policemen then you have to
sack those that belong to any of the mainstream legitimate parties, not just
the BNP.

Outrageous, the bleeding heart leftie liberals witch hunt somebody again.
Resign over a t-shirt in his free time, it is pathetic. Where these same
people clambering for the clerics of hate to be dealt with, or the people
issuing death threats to people like Salman Rushdie to be tracked down and
dealt with? Of course not - another example of all that is wrong in British
society today.

Exactly. If it's legal, what a copper does in his or her spare time is their

Stories like this make you despair where this country is going to. We have a
major problem with minority appeasers and it seems they still have far too
much say.

Possibly.... but I think it's more likely that she would be influenced by

The media (including the BBC) is infested with raving lefties. They are
scared of the BNP and scared to debate with the BNP.... all they want to do
is to stifle debate on this issue because they are shitting themselves that
ordinary people might actually realise what the BNP is *really* about and
vote for them. From newsgroups to the BBC, someone only has to shout
"racist" and all rational argument stops.

you seem to backtracking somewhat Ron, hopefully realising what a ludicrous
situation the original discussion point is.
As for the Daily Mail, if you don't like it, don't read it - I would suggest
it merely has a different politicial viewpoint from your own.

I have to agree, they should be able to join the communist party or BNP.
They should be able to call for a revolution, or the end to immigration.
However, they should not be allowed to the death of other individuals .

What about Brian Paddick the prick who ran for Mayor of London he was a very
high profile deputy assistant commissioner; wasn't he a well known Liberal
Demorcrat Supported whilst i high ranking Office.
If I remember correctly he raised police tolerance levels to cannabis in
Lambeth and particlarly Brixton. This of course was a way to reduce crime
and did no fucking good whatsover. Anyways Ron how does that fit with your
view of 'being impartial'?

Trouble is we have the Guardian on one side and the Mail on the other....

Nope, never have done. I read my news online from many sources, that way I
know I'm not just reading what someone wants me to read.

Why do you think the BBC wouldn't allow the BNP a Party Political Broadcast
like they allowed the other parties? Why do you think no BNP representative
appears on Question Time? It's because they come across as articulate and
are able to disprove the myths that they get smeared with. It doesn't suit
the agenda when people are expecting a skinhead with swastikas, yelling
"blacks out".

No. I am posting a link to a website. The contributors her are quite skilled
at using google for themselves, as demonstrated by the way they hunt each
other down.
If they wish to research further then they can.

I would suggest a good place would be the BNP Constitution, straight from
the horses mouth

So in the interests of impartiality, you post a link to Searchlight, the
leftie myth machine. But anyone who wants a different perspective should go
and Google it....

Hmm

1. Who mentioned impartiality ? I think that the BNP should be illegal, as
in my view, based on my own research, they are an extremist, racist
organisation.
2. I am not a leftie, I have actually voted Tory since 1979. I posted a link
that demonstrates my own views on the BNP...many others are available on the
interweb
3. Police and public servants shouldn't be allowed to join an organisation
such as this, if it does excist
4. People should not base their views on mine, but should make their own
mind up.
5. We have "kicked racism out of football" - but here we have a serving
police officer, demonstrating membership, whilst at old trafford. I wonder
did he have any bananas with him ?

LOL ?

Why? It's a legal political party.

Why would he have bananas with him? Does it bother you that ordinary,
balanced people like off-duty coppers can support the BNP but not make
monkey noises at football matches?

One day you might understand that every time the BNP is silenced,
discriminated against, isolated or attacked, their membership goes up.

burn down the Reichstag i say
When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.
When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn't a Jew.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

Actually the lefties of BBC/Guardian/Labour Party and rump left will be the
biggest cause of a nasty right-wing backlash in the near future
they have contemptuously abused the indigenous population to salve their own
distorted guilt. I Any growing support for the BNP is precisely down to the
corrupt left and I have to say Tory Party allowing decades of inequality.

All countries need immigration and I believe that the bulk of the latest
indigenous folk in England are good and tolerant but when a right wing
bandwagon starts rolling then many decent good people will suffer and I lay
the blame on this purely on the left who should be asking for right for
everyone not just minority groups and definitely not prioritizing those
groups and festering and enlarging grievances based on GB colonial past.

Ron the police have been increasingly politisied for over a decade, in fact
in my view they are fucking usless, corrupt and cowards to boot.

They have been told to concentrate on so called hate crimes so if someone
says I called them a green cunt then the police would take a very serious
view and caution/charge / and DNA swab me. Yet with real crime unless it
murder thay bare totally disinterested. If you are burgalled they invariably
respond bar a phone call from some useless paper pushing twat who gives you
a crime number. That's why I'm pleased that Commissioner Blair was twatted
by Boris. Blair was a Labour left leaning crony appointed by Blunkett and
under Blair crime. violent crime and killings reacehd unprecedented levels.

I have to confess I quite like Richard Littlejohn's columns because although
unpleasent to the ears of the left he never lies..
His recent article on George Micheal arrest says it all about the corrupt
laws in this country.
"What does George have to do to get his collar felt?
If anyone else had been caught lurking in a public toilet, with Class A
drugs, he would rightly expect a hefty penalty.

Possession of crack cocaine, for instance, carries a prison sentence of up
to seven years and an unlimited fine.

Yet for just such an offence, George Michael has just been let off - again.

What does this sad case have to do to get a punishment which fits the crime?
It's not as if he hasn't got previous.

No one can possibly believe he feels any remorse. When he was nicked for
flashing in a toilet in Los Angeles, he went straight out and made a
urinal-studded video poking fun at the cops.

His gormless cheerleaders claimed his arrest was all about 'homophobia'. I
can remember asking at the time: what if he'd done it in the Ladies? Answer
came there none. "

After this latest incident the police decided not to charge him after he
said 'sorry'.

So that's all right, then. Next time you get a parking ticket, try saying
'sorry' and see how far that g

I'm neither a member of, or a recruitment officer for, the BNP. The BNP,
like all major parties, has some policies I like and some I don't. In an
ideal world, I'd find a party that has all the ideas I like.

Just because someone doesn't condemn something out of hand, doesn't mean
they support it. I just get tired of people trotting out the same
unsubstantiated shite about the BNP. Just because the anti-nazis scream
loudest, it doesn't make them right. The BNP has survived countless legal
and violent attempts to close it down despite being a legal and legitimate
political party.

Just remember.... every case of positive discrimination means more votes for
the BNP. It's not the BNP that is driving electoral opinion towards the
BNP..... but democracy dictates that people must have an alternative. If
current policies and attitudes are causing ordinary people to lend their
support to a supposed "extreme" party, then that's a deeper problem and not
one the BNP is responsible for.

Invite the BNP onto TV political shows, report (unbiasedly) on their rallies
and conferences. What are you scared of? If they are as extreme and as
abhorrent as you claim, then this would g
