Clearly Rafa is head and shoulders ahead of Ferguson at the same stage of
his career.

Thanks for the stats, very interesting.

How many trophy-less years will Mr Ted give Mr B?

I'm not saying he won't win any like, just out of interest.

Since the CL, what is it now 3 years and nearly 100 mill spent?

Serious question.

The question wasn't aimed at you mate but that's fine with me.

Serious question though, how long will genuine reds give the fella?

His last trophy was in the 2005/06 year (FA Cup)

So that's nowt in

2006/07
+
2007/08

If he wins fook all this season that is 3 season without a trophy with a
massive amount of dough spent on players.

So after this 3 years how long has RB got?

Houllier went unbeaten in the league in 2002-3 as well, till the end of
October.

Don't kid yourself this fat fucker will win the league - he won't. Not
good enough; not inspiring enough; horrendously crap players, most of
them playing out of position,; and the most negative, ultra defensive
boring rigid turgid insipid excruciating style of football ever seen in
England.

We'll be lucky to finish fifth.

Don't forget the needless hoofing of the ball to nobody in particular
Pope when they need to push the game. I like this guy Skrtl (?) but he
needs to reign in his pestilence or he will cost you big time one day.

Where's the trophies for playing in a champion league final and being
unbeaten in the league?!?

We've played SIX games in the league. To be content and satisfied
with having have done what we need to do - that's ok. Of course you
take the undefeated, the ECL wins, etc etc rather than starting slow.

To BRAG and somehow expect some deference because we're undefeated
before 2 months of the season is finished is just embarrasing.

Stop it.

Some of you NEVER learn, and you make all of us a laughing stock.

We went over a season without getting beat and though there is no
trophy I would hold that it is a greater achievement than winning a
Champions League. I doubt it will ever be done again.

What people dont get is that the premiership (and other leagues) has been
relegated, to a qualifying competition for the Champs League.

That may not sit well with people, but I am afraid its true, and is just
another slow step in the ultimate change in our sport...the introduction of
a playoff system.
Dont believe me...ten years from now, top six playoff, final at Wembly.

It may not feel right, and as a St Helens RL supporter (two consecutive
league titles, but not champions) I understand why, but you just watch ;-)

Personally, I always think you get an idea, under normal circumstances,
around 5 years.
But that doesn't mean 5 years, no title, go. Its about visible progress.

I would qualify that if you are in a position to give 300 million in one go,
and then more, you may expect faster results. (Chelsea)
Also, if you take over a title winning squad you would reasonably expect
quicker success too.

You have Manchester United, massive club, still at the peak of their powers,
and more to spend than us.
You have Chelsea, with unlimited resources, and a great squad...Avram Grant
proved the benefit of that.
I do believe Arsenal are on the wain...they remind me of us in the early
1990's, people just took it as read that we will win the title next
year.....

Benitez, I believe, will get a good run because his team is getting better
and better.

Oh, and a 100 million ist that much over 5 seasons is it ?

You could well be right. A football writer mentioned the same thing
the other day that the Premiership could be decided in London.
