Toronto Sports Giants Plot Leeds United Takeover?
The owners of the NHL team Toronto Maple Leafs and NFL team the
Toronto Raptors are believed to be looking into a takeover bid of
League One side Leeds United.
The Daily Mirror have reported, with the story being subsequently
copied in Canadian press that Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment are
looking at Leeds United as a possible target for yet another North
American takeover of an English football club.

Potential Leeds United Takeover?
Rumors in many Canadian and the Daily Mirror newspapers are that talks
have already began regarding a takeover between Ken Bates and Canadian
company Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment.
Due to many rumors that Bates was going to step down at the end of the
season these rumors was always going to occur; however if this was to
come off and MLSE were to take over Leeds United, I for one would
welcome it, heres why:-

Report: MLSE in talks to purchase English soccer club Leeds United
TORONTO Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment is in talks to purchase
English soccer club Leeds United, British newspaper the Sunday Mirror
reported on its website.
Citing unnamed sources, the Mirror reported preliminary talks between
Leeds and MLSE have already taken place. Leeds chairman Ken Bates
would not confirm the discussions occurred.

MLSE not talking with Leeds, Peddie says
Richard Peddie did not even have to wait for the full question to be
asked before he shot back with a response.
The question, after all, was a popular one on Monday, thanks to a
report on the Web site of British newspaper the Sunday Mirror that
said Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, Ltd., had entered
preliminary negotiations to buy British soccer club Leeds United.
So, had they?
"Pure fiction," Peddie, the president of MLSE, said.
The rumour stemmed from both recent history and Leeds' financial
circumstances. Peddie, along with MLSE chief financial officer Ian
Clarke, visited England last month to do some initial research on
English soccer. On the trip, the pair met with numerous clubs.
