I might be mistaken but haven't all the teams that have been promoted
this season been the highest finishing teams in the respective leagues
anyway? I think that's the way it should be and the money-spinning
playoffs should just be scrapped. The teams that finish the highest in
the league and are the most consistent over the course of the season
should be the ones that gain promotion. It should be automatic. Those
are the teams that are best equipped to cope with life in the next
league up and stand a better chance of being able to stay up. That's
the way it should be IMHO.
