Maple Leafs in Northern England ...
Gents ...

A short item in a Toronto newspaper says the local National Hockey
League team, the Toronto Maple Leafs, are in the hunt to buy a portion
of Leeds United.

This is an organization with deep pockets, but with a dismal record in
the win-loss column. (They also own the Toronto Raptors of the
National Basketball Association and Toronto FC of Major League Soccer
and a minor league hockey team.)

Just a heads-up ...

Cheers for that. Who are the Toronto Spurs? I thought it was the
Raptors or Blue Jays? Wasn't it your player that got his throat
severed in that Ice Hockey game? Saw the clips on Utube.

If they do buy a slice of us, do you know if they'll invest in a tall
CN Tower for Leeds so we can look down on our magnificent stadium with
retractable roof while we get pissed in a revolving bar? ;)

Spurs fan, living in Toronto ...

No, it was not a Leaf who got the slice ... (not sure who that was ...
not a professional, if I recall.)

Anyway, the team has denied the rumour, as well as the ones connecting
them to Tottenham and Sheffield United ...
