From Wembley to Carlisle
Well, finally got back from London. Great game at Wembley and looking
forward to the NFL coming back to the UK, and hopefully even a
franchise team over here at some stage in the future. You never know
maybe even a Superbowl! There's still always the Yorkshire Rams at
South Leeds stadium.
Wembley was rammed to the rafters. Unbelievable all the UK fans
supporting the Dolphins and Giants plus many other teams as well and
the noise generated. Quite a number of Americans made it over as well.
A great atmosphere all round. Got absolutely hammered on the beer and
vodkas.
Before I went I was in a bar in Kensington with a bunch of Aussies,
French, Poles, Africans and Chinese all in there to watch the
football, Liverpool v Arsenal. Got to the game on the tube sat next to
a Chelsea fan also going to support the Giants. Sat at the stadium
with some Indian Dolphin fans and on the way back afterwards on the
Tube with a bunch of Irish comedians. What does it mean to be British?
I guess that's it! You know you can only be in London with that clash
of culture.
And now I have to look forward to Carlisle this weekend coming what a
contrast! Great place, shame about the people that inhabit it
especially after reading some of the posts on the Carlisle United
forum, so I'm hoping we stuff them.
Would be nice to be back at Wembley at the end of the season but I
think it looks like we'll be heading straight back up with automatic
promotion, unless the bastards at the FA try and dock more points off
us for some superficial reason e.g. they don't like us.
