Has Rafa ever been relegated out of the Coca Cola Championship?

No, but I'd like to see him apply his tactical genius to a team made up
of journeymen, has-beens and cast-offs. You or I could probably put out
a decent side if we had enough money to spend.

3-0?

To be honest, I still expected to lose the odd game, even with MON in
charge.

Whilst I was underwhelmed by his dealings in the transfer window and am yet
to be convinced that 4 million was a fair price to pay for a player like
Marlon Harewood when we had Juan Pablo Angel available to round out our
squad, I am realistic about what MON was up against. Under Ellis, we had
become a very backward organisation and it was always going to take a coarse
of gradual and progressive improvement before we could truly challenge for
the players and stature all fans seek.

Out of interest, exactly what developments had you expected under O'Neill?

O'Neils success at Celtic and his managing style with Wycombe and Leicester
won him many admirers, me included...Though coming from Nottingham i had the
opportunity to see him many times as a player - My dad is an ardent
Nottingham Forest Fan. I thought that Villa and O'Neill would be a perfect
match. No disrepect to Celtic but Villa are a big premiership club and I
thought he would slip into the mantle easily and steer Villa to some kind of
success. He hasn't - however, if the board are willing to hold their nerve -
i suspect he will do...We'll see.
