Tottenham game
Anyone see the game tonight? Although we tried to battle for bits of the
game, I felt we were just way out of our league tonight and the game seemed
to show some of the shortcomings we have in the squad. Was an interesting
point the commentator made about us being league champions for the third
time, through to last 16 of CL again but still don't seem to be able to
spend large amounts of money to attract bigger name players. I agree our
league may not be as glitzy as the EPL or other European leagues, but I find
it a little sad that no quality players seem to want to come here. Every
close season we seem to every name under the sun linked with a move up north
but nothing ever materialises.

Yes and having seen the other matches and three of Ranger's matches I have
to say that if a club outside the Old Firm cannot win the league this
season then it isn't ever going to happen again. Both look truly dire with
no prospect of improving from what I can see.

Interesting point, but i still cant see anyone apart from the OF winning it
as usual. But i do agree both sides look the worst they have been in
years.Cant see either making it to the last 16 of the CL this season.

Celtic or Rangers will win the league this year and the closest one of the
wee diddy teams will be lucky to get within 15 pts IMHO.

You can't read too much into pre-season games.

I'm not - I am reading into how dire they were at the end of last season.

Yet Celtic still won their last 7 games in a row. I'd agree both teams were
pretty dire last year, but the closest team to 2nd place Rangers was 16 pts
behind. I think Celtic will probably sign 2-3 players before the close of
the transfer window, so I can only see them improving.

I certainly hope so or this season's CL campaign could be somewhat
embarrassing.

Could be, but then we had a similar squad last year and got to the last 16
and Rangers got to the UEFA Cup final. Punched above our weight, that's for
sure.
