Why no postponements?
I can't believe Celtic haven't asked for a postponement out of respect
for Tommy Burns! We asked for one when a popular ex-player tragically
died, but when a vital member of the current coaching staff, who's also
one of the club greats dies we don't bother! We just expect the players
and staff to come to terms with it and get on with it.

There's so many players, coaches and managers in the SPL who have played
or worked with Tommy that evev the SPL couldn't say no to an extension
to the season in these circumstances.

death then ?

And why would a Rangers fan saying 'No' make any difference you clown ?
For other teams to deny a league extension to make Rangers attempt at
winning
the league harder is understandable, but theres no way ANY team in the
country, let alone the SPL, would knock back such a request due to a sad
loss like the one thats happened. So go crawl back under your rock you
bitter little rat.
I for one wouldn't have any problem with a postponement of ALL games, not
just the Celtic game, in the next week as a mark of respect to TB and his
family. No doubt the SPL/SFA will fuqq it up as usual

Didnt you apologise for making a cunt of yourself over the POD situation,
was it not a genuine apology then?

If i apologised then it was genuine, no point in apologising if it isnt. I'm
sure i also stated somewhere that ALL the games should have been canceled
not just the Celtic one, the SPL fuqqed that up as well. Might be wrong
though, havent checked back to see, but is this the best time to be nit
picking zb ? IMO though, i think that TB's death will affect the players a
whole lot more than POD's untimely demise due to thye day to day interaction
that they have had with him over the seasons

So you're completely unaware of the level of Walter Smith's or Ally
McCoists friendship or respect for Tommy Burns then? You think if
Celtic asked for another week for the squad to get over the tragedy and
get re-focussed that Walter Smith would let anyone at Rangers raise an
objection?

Tommy's death puts all the crap about integrity of the competition into
perspective. Life and death is important. Which team wins the league
is a short-term inconsequence that can be put right 12 months later.

Re: Why no postponements?
Rangers have been trying to get the SPL to extend the league for weeks you
moron! Why would they say no now?

Celtic asked for the Old Firm game to be postponed when Phil O'Donnel died
purely because they wanted to play the game when Aiden McGeady was
available. If they were that worried about respect for ex-players or their
families why are they happy to go about their business as usual now?

I'm not nit-picking, I am curious as to why you are asking the question, it
sounded as though you were bringing into doubt Celtic's request for the POD
cancellation all over again.

Not at all, it didn't even enter my mind. Your just being paranoid, I was
being sarcastic to the prat that thought that 6 days was enough for TB's
work colleagues and friends to get over his death

That's as may be. But it doesn't explain Celtic's blatant double standards.
You need all sorts of help and support from the league in one tragic
situation but don't in an even worse one????

Celtic aren't playing, they don't need to call anything off. It would
be up to Rangers to ask for a cacellation if the passing of Burns has
upset Walter and Ally so much.

Not the point. Celtic needed the Old Firm match postponed in January so
they had 14 days between POD's death and their next game. It's not about
whether a game's due, it's about the effect on the players and staffs
ability to focus on training during the week and preparing for the next
game isn't it? Why such a break needed in January but not now when Tommy's
death must have had a bigger impact on the staff and players?

I think what he's trying to say is that when POD died, a motherwell player
remember, on the 29th December celtic requested that their game against
Rangers on the 2nd of Jan be postponed and also the celtic Motherwell game
the following weekend. Now TB has sadly died but there are no requests for a
game that has to be played in 5 days time, shortly after TB's funeral. The
players must be more affected by his death than POD's surely. As stated in
an earlier post i think that all this weeks games should have been postponed
as a mark of respect

Wrong. Wasn't Celtic who requested the Motherwell game was postponed.

Yes it suited us to have the Of game and Motherwell games postponed at that
point in the league, but after all the furore about how many games Rangers
have been 'forced' to play and how the SPL have fucked it up, wouldn't they
look extremely silly to postpone it due to another footballers death? It
would be good if the games were postponed as a mark of respect but i don't
think the SPL could allow it without looking like even bigger tits than
they already are.

I honestly dont think so, i think if they had postponed all this weeks game
they would have gained a wee bit of respect for doing the right thing for
once
