OT: TV Reception problems
Need a bit of help with something here:

My family are having trouble getting any sort of tv reception in the house,
and the analogue service is going to be cut off in two years anyways (I
think in the ROI it is but I'm not sure) and anyways I can't be bothered to
fork out loads to fix the aerial with an amplifier on it.

So in order to get TV Reception do I go and get a freeview box or what?
What can I do in the short term of things to guarantee they have tv for
christmas.

Complicated situation is this - I've got sky in my bedroom, but only my
bedroom and lets face it, you can't have your whole family crammed into one
tiny place for Christmas lol.

So what should i do?

May be wrong in this situation but if you go for a freeview box youll need
to still get a digital aerial for the switch over.Has your sky box got a
quad LNB ? If it has just get a cheap sky digital box on ebay and ask them
for a freeview card.Like i say im not 100% on these things but would save
you having to bugger around on the roof with an aerial!

Is running a cable from your bedroom to one of the other rooms feasible?

No point in buying a Freeview box unless you are going to sort out
your analogue reception first as a Freeview box needs a good signal

What you could do is get a cheap Digibox and run a piece of cable from
the RF outlet of the first box to your new box and fit one of those
TV-Link thingys to the new box www.tvlink.co.uk The second box will
show only what the first box is showing tho' although a Sky remote
will control both boxes . I'm not sure if this can be done by a "non
cable" method .
