Proposal for Overseas Football Games
If it extends to Championship games, how will that affect Ben's quest
to visit every League stadium? How the fuck would he get to the
Maracana on a sultry Tuesday evening to see Coventry play Grimsby?

I'm sure the post-match entertainment would be good quality, and he
could finance the trip by bringing back some of Colombia's finest in
swallowed condoms.

Irrespective, Sid will always leave just before Ben arrives.

I'm starting to think they could be the same person.

You think you're getting a bargain until they whip out some surprise bacon.

I's bad for the ordinary fan, and yet another example of the FA doing
absolutely anything for money.

On the other hand if it means Boro will be playing in Europe let's not
stand in the way of progress.

Small town in Asia, we're just a small town in Asia . . .

Why not follow this to its logical conclusion and just let everyone play
exhibition matches on a world tour, like the Harlem Globetrotters in the 70s
(only not as tall)? When you get people in Dar Es Salaam proclaiming their
allegiance to Man Utd or Real Madrid it's obvious that the best teams are
simply global brands rather than representatives of any particular locality.

Obviously. Arsenal, for example, rarely have any Brits in their team let
alone Londoners.

Given how impossible it seems to set up a European League, I can see
quite a lot of opposition to this proposal from the potential suckers
who would be expected to pay to watch. Who is South America would be
remotely interested in Bolton v Derby for example?
