Heath Ledger took a brief break from rodgering cowboys yesterday to
sensationally die. The Bareback Mounting star was one of only nine
famous Australians, an exclusive group composed of the original AC-DC
line-up, Crocodile Dundee, and three wildcard places for use by assorted
Soap stars.

Manhattan PD's Chief Dave Rewitz is ruling nothing out at this stage,
except perhaps "old age". He explained "Those pills he was found with
may simply have been Smarties, with the coating licked off to make the
chocolate go soft. That's what I always do, anyway. We won't know until
we've munched a few".

Morgan Freeman finally expressed his grief when it became obvious he
wouldn't be able to discuss his own role in Batman / The Dark Knight
until he gave an obligatory platitude ; "Although I never worked on the
same set as Heath throughout the filming, or erm even met him, I'm
really saddened by his death, and my heart goes out, and erm comes back
in again. He touched so many people in so many ways, but I never
listened to the rumours."

Ledger will be fondly remembered for his role in A Knight's Tale, where
he played the goody, and Rufus Sewell played the baddy due to Dick
Dastardly's other commitments with Hanna-Barbera.

I haven't nominated anything in years, Tommocubed, but I think
that might have to change.
