Allardyce not sacked
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/newcastle_united/7179847.stm

The club, currently 11th in the Premier League, said the decision had been
reached "by mutual agreement".

Allardyce, who was in charge for 24 games, said: "I'm disappointed but I
wish them all the best for the future. It was a shock, I didn't expect it."

Doesn't sound very mutual to me.

Does anyone want me to fax our CV to Newcastle?

If you'll recall, they really do have an excellent record for progressive,
forward-thinking managerial appointments. Remember the time they
pretended they had given Glenn Roeder the job?

That's not a bad idea actually. I'm bored of managing Bolton now, and their
upturn in Premiership fortunes of late suggests the rest of you are too.
It's he only explanation. Last week, I asked Kevin Nolan to write some more
haiku poems, the next day I found out he hadn't done them at all and had
been practising football instead.

I hate to say it, but I think we've lost the dressing room. Maybe our work
here is done.

AWTWP. Although, it has to be said, they might as well have done for all
the good alt.fan.scarecrow did in their time there. I'm sure we could do
better than that. Also, there'd be a nice symmetry to the whole thing, what
with being the second time this season we've sorted out Allardyce's mess.

Hang on, what do you mean Bolton? I thought we were still in charge
of Charlton! No wonder they've been giving me funny looks and giggling
and pointing a little when I've been wandering into the changing room
at half time!!

We aren't going to take Paul McShane off your hands, you know. Nobody is.

Hey, there's nowt wrong with a bit of occasional, unpredicatble
humour in the modern game. If Forest survived in the top flight
with Jason Lee up front then we can survive with McShane in the
team.

Hang on, there's a flaw there somewhere.

That's true, and if you drop him, why, you always have Greg Halford to
play instead. An embarrassment of riches.

I think it's describing McShane as 'unpredictable'. He seems quite
consistent to me.

What would be the most underhand thing their board could do? I think it
would be get rid of Fat Sam (check), install a puppet (check), buy
players in the Jan window to Mourinho's bidding, ready for the special
one to take the help as soon as he's out of his "you can't manage any
one else" clause.

It's such a pity though. After all, they are a B I G club. Who don't win
trophies. Or command a top 4 position.

It seems so. Mike Ashley just called and says the job is all ours. He's
even agreed to give us a patsy who reminds me a bit of Les Something
from Charlton. Nigel Piercing, I think he said his name was. Apparently,
he's used to doing interviews as someone else's mouthpiece so that should
work quite well.

So, if we're all agreed, I'll let Phil know we're leaving. I'll even
recommend
that he makes Megson the real manager. For a laugh.

We stopped being manager of Charlton months ago. Ever since we
successfully got them relegated while simultaneously making the players
more open-minded, tolerant and considerate young men.

We successfully applied for the Bolton job in the summer and after a
tremendous start, where the players revealed previously unseen depths
and some wonderful poetry-writing abilities, they've since changed and
have started concentrating far too much on football. They've been
secretly bunking off Science lessons recently to practice set-pieces and
dribbling around cones. All completely useless skills in the real world,
I'm sure we'd all agree.

Judging by what I saw of Kevin Nolan that time he and I shared a
sauna, I'm surprised it wasn't the other way round.

Oh, so you _want_ Newcastle's players to be well-rounded, intelligent,
selfless members of society, do you?

Because, believe me, Chris, that's exactly what's going to happen.

AWTWP. Our record speaks for itself.

AWTWP. I caught Ivan Campo in the gym the other day. The _gym_ ffs11! I
thought we'd converted that place into sex-dungeon ages ago but apparently
you can still work out there. Essentially it's the same machines.

He was bench-pressing the horsecock.

GPWM, except that Kevin Nolan plays for Bolton. I think Vicky's still
talking about Charlton.

Hence the whole 'giggling and pointing' thing, because she's not supposed to
go into the changing room at half time, because she's not the manager
anymore and some of the lads there probably don't even know who she is.

Honestly, Mikey, it's tiring having to keep explaining Vicky to you all the
time. Just remember that she's the Archive Monster, and she's angry, and
increasingly confused.

If Vicky ever set foot inside the Bolton changing room at half point, I
suspect most of those feckless cunts would cower like frightened animals,
and Nicolas Anelka would curl up into a ball. No-one would be laughing,
that's for sure.

I think I understand now why we lost the dressing room. It's no use trying
to do the whole 'loads of nice managers and one nasty one' routine if the
nasty manager's two hundred miles away at the wrong club. Ffs.

I like the sound of this Nigel Something character. Sounds exactly our kind
of patsy.

Heh. Nice idea, but I can't really see Gartside going for that. He might
be slightly mental but he's not stupid.

Well, I must say, that's a funny sort of a name for a man to have. I'm
