T20 Qualifier Final
4:53 PM It's goodbye from us all here at Stormont!
4:53 PM Congratulations to Ireland, The Netherlands and Scotland on
qualifying for the 2009 finals in England.
4:52 PM Unfortunately the match has been abandoned as the rain has
returned and become much heavier. Hopefully you have enjoyed our
coverage from Stormont of the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier, despite
the disappointing end to the tournament.
4:11 PM And sure enough, the clouds respond by opening up again. Back
they go!
4:09 PM And once more a start is made with removing the covers.
3:14 PM This could hardly be more annoying: no sooner do they start to
take the covers off, than it starts raining again. The umbrellas are
up once more, and the side covers have returned.
3:02 PM The side covers are coming off!!!
2:57 PM The rain has stopped, and the umpires are back out in the
middle. But the covers are still on.
2:42 PM It's still raining here, I'm afraid. Not heavily, but enough.
Or rather, too much!
1:37 PM This isn't looking good, folks. The rain isn't heavy, but it's
steady and there isn't a lot of wind.
1:31 PM The rain's getting steadier, and they're now bringing out the
side covers as well.
1:25 PM It's still drizzling, and they are now re-covering the
bowlers' run-ups.
1:23 PM
1:21 PM
1:19 PM I'm afraid the umbrellas are going back up, and the covers are
being pushed back.
1:19 PM Ireland have just won the toss, and William Porterfield has
asked The Netherlands to bat first.
1:17 PM And welcome again to our live coverage of the ICC World
Twenty20 qualifier, where the final between Ireland and The
Netherlands has been delayed for half an hour by a shower of rain.

Re: T20 Qualifier Final
I forgot to add.
As this match was abandoned who will play England in the opening match
of the WT20 cup at Lords?

Apparently Ireland goes through as top-ranked qualifier because its one-day
international ranking is higher than the Netherlands, which seems a bit
strange given that it isn't a 50-over tournament. Anyway, I think that
means Ireland is grouped with India and Bangladesh.

I think that the qualifiers last time were based on the inter
continental rankings, which is a timed match competition.
