Brittle middle order
Yikes.
Ian Bell lbw b I Brien 0
Paul Collingwood c R Taylor b K Mills 0
Although given previous Tests I'm sure we can dig ourselves out of a
hole. The form of these two is quite worrying though. The words zone,
central, comfort and contracts spring to mind. Oh, and inconsistency.

That would be a useful (and make good viewing). England vs "England
Lions" in a 5-day Test at the start of the season.

Good grief you'll tire the lads out! Besides, think how many 20/20 games
you could play instead and make shedloads. Think you've lost the current
plot.
Or perhaps I'm a little sad and cynical

barring a huge score in the second innings you have to think that the
return of Flintoff for the 1st SA test will inevitably at the expense
of Collingwood - yes Freddie has been in bad form with the bat but it
would be hard to be in worse form than Collie....

Given that Collingwood hasn't been bowling much owing to the shoulder
problem, treat him as a specialist batsman. Which means replacing him with
a batsman e.g. Key, Bopara, Shah etc. Just a thought...
