LONDON Olympics, what shite to expect esp from the BBC
Just watched the Chinese hand over the baton to the Brits for the 2012, and
was absolutely disgusted by what I saw ( no not Boris) A double decker bus
arrived in the Bejing stadium the doors opened and out stepped a young
girl, "" Selected"" by the Blue peter viewers in a competition ( remember
the last two BP competitions were proven to be rigged and the BBC had to
apologise)

I expected the child representative of the UK ( not GB team as Ulsters
joining us in 2012) to be either English, Irish, Scotish or Welsh and to be
a typical modern member of British society which is still 90% white.

What did we get?...................... A young asian girl !!!!!!!!

No disrespect to the youngster , but an asian girl with an asian name is
hardly typically British unless you are once again trying to force multi
cultiuralism down our throats. Using an Asian kid to represent the UK is no
different to the chinese using a Japanese kid to represent China.

The London Olympics is going to be a 12 billion pound brain washing exercise
to show us all how wonderful and diverse the UK is , even the millions they
will have to spend on trying to stop certain members of the wonderful
Islamic community from blowing us all to hell.

What a joke, what a disgrace.

Yep, I just wonder what message this has sent to the rest of the world,
after watching the Chinese performance of thousands of immaculately dressed
performers I can only say I'm embbarresd to watch the rabble that
represented the UK, PC bullshit at its best! I wont even turn the tv on to
watch 2012 Olympics.

There was a dismaying inevitability about it. They just cant give

Agreed... what a disgrace!!
the flag handover to the Mayor of London~ good grief, 3 on the
centre stage and he's the one who looks like
he just woke up, got half dressed, and wonders where he's supposed to
be, and what doing!?
and that later 'speech' he gave to a reporter around 1am China time -
he came across as a crass disgraceful, complete idiot, the world
watched China, were impressed by the whole event, impressed by their
desire to reach as close to perfection as possible, an immaculate
Olympic event, they represented themselves excellently, with pride
and an attitude you'd find hard to fault..... and then we see this
Mayor of London , and we shake our heads in wonder at what kind of an
Olympic event is coming along in 4 years time,
I hope in that time we learn how to stand upright - cos at present
we're dragging our knuckles on the ground.
China may have it's faults - we all have! - but this event.. they
can be proud of themselves.

No you didn't, you got a young British girl with an Asian background.
Does it bother you that the head of state is an old English woman with a
German background?

The message it was meant to send: that London/UK is a multicultural
city/country (for good or ill) and so no one will feel ill at ease
there. The lattter is probably not true of course, especially given the
number of xenophobic idiots who appear here regularly and so roam our
cities on a daily basis, but could be so and "men of goodwill" try to
make it thus.

Inot sure I agree with that

 It was crass and obvious

But I defintely agree with that. Even if I can imagine where they're
coming from I find it pretty crass and obvious as you say.

i take it you were just joking about the scots winning the whisky
drinking event then? or is anti-racism only for people of differing colour?

Scots are too tight to pay for the Whisky, so how can they win such a
competition?

I think you'll find the girl in question was English.

Why would you expect that? There is no rule or regulation to
say anywhere that the person who handles the baton passed on from one
Olympics to the next should be of a "typical appearance" to their
society. That is not the point of a mascot.

> What did we get?...................... A young asian girl !!!!!!!!
>

Neither is being out of the median age range of 24 to roughly
39, so I take it you'd restrict future choice of mascots only to this
category. Perhaps we could also bar natural blondes and redheads in
future, since they are relatively rare and untypical of society as a
whole. And albinoes would of course have to be off the list.

> unless you are once again trying to force multi
> cultiuralism down our throats.

Or it could be that since the Olympics is held in a part of
London with an exceptionally large Asian population, it is conceivable
that most of the children applying from the area were Asian. Who
knows?

> Using an Asian kid to represent the UK is no

This is a statement of fact, not an argument for or against.

Just as a question, what would you say if the Republic of
South Africa banned whites from appearing as mascots? The logic being
the same. I assume your views would be rather different then.

I'm surprised that the Chinese didn't use a nice blond, blue eyed
child to sing or
even lip sync instead of a Chinese child. There are plenty of them
still living in Hong Kong,
or were when I was there in 1986.

Are you saying that all British people with Anglo/Saxon/Danish/
Viking background
are German? If so, it would appear we fought on the wrong side in
WW2. Instead
of siding with Bolshie Russia Slavs, we could have all joined
together to defeat
  Communism.

I reckon any Scot worth his sporran would be proud to win a whisky
drinking competition but I think they'll probably lose to the Irish.

The LibLabCon are turning Britain into a Second world country, but
millions will still support them in their treachery at the next
election.

I won't be watching the London olympics either because I couldn't
stand the BBC's multicultural coverage of the Chinese one.

Apart from the 100,000 white Londoners have left the UK capital this
year as immigrants stream into the city. Maybe some of them are ex
Labour voters, who knows?

I was thinking more along the lines of the copious amounts of black muggers,
