Firstly, this is a case of 'American Police Negligence' and not 'American
Gun Madness' as you subject heading suggests.

As for this shooting. I can't believe the Police have been cleared of any
wrong doing. What a bloody joke!!!

I hope this family gets that 6 million dollars from their civil action
against the Police, as they deserve every bloody cent after suffering this
appalling act of Police negligence.

It's interesting how this news article (below) alleges that the Police in
this case attempted to cover up the shooting when there conversation were
caught the 911 tape.

Agreed. It makes zero sense. They are caught on tape with deliberate
wrongdoing, not to mention the blatant negligence.

Even tho I am in complete sympathy with the family, I don't like the way
the woman is doing what she's doing. She comes off as less than sincere and
appears to be building her case, not responding honestly to questions. I
suspect her lawyer has coached her in this, but if not, he should rein her in.
The jury might be less sympathetic if they see her as after the money.

And yes, I know how that sounds. In fact I would give her more than she's
asking for.

_Tape_Caught_Cops_Planning_Cover-Up_After_Shooting.htm

This is the most bizarre story I've heard in a long time. Why would they
drag a wounded person out of the house, thru gravel and throw him on the hood
and drive around with him there? They wouldn't treat a guilty party like that,
let alone an innocent citizen. I wish I could say the coverup surprises me,
but that's just standard cop procedure.

If I were on the jury I would give these people a lot more thn the six
million they asked for.

Clever aren't they, they are the ultimate proof that "absolute power
corrupts absolutely" ....they have no common sense area beyond a coward's
achievements so far....

Gangs are gangs, whether white blue black red/white
colors/Cop/Crook, safety in numbers, a gun/badge/patch to hide behind, is
surely not a Vakyrie.....you stand alone you stand forever as a God, in the
hereafter as well....but even then it's hard to be top "dog" forever.

You stand in an offensive gun gang and you stand as "yellow" as they
get....a coward for personal profit, just another gutless wonder.......a
PUNK, and a threat to public safety.

Very often it is necessary to be in a gang to even out the odds in
lieu of dying for a 2 bit punk from a gun gang who isn't worth wasting your
knuckles on or burning in public.

This part is just another Pearl Harbor Dec/1941 or WTC 9/11 that
says we can lie all we want, and YOU the unarmed Civy can't so anything
about it, unless YOU want your balls blown away by our new
Microwave/Sonic/Hot lead/Taser weaponry that WE bought with YOUR tax dollar.

That is why nobody likes to pay taxes, it's like being made fool
of, those Indian "Red Cards" must be useful these days....maybe get one and
even out the odds.

I think that can also bitterly should read American "Police" Gun
Madness....which is a defacto standard these days......big gangs big guns
big egos, small brains/no common sense.

I notice they slap their chests, and don't beat it with a fist,
maybe they are different gang styles....actually I'd have a hard time
understanding the Crips/Bloods hand/finger lingo.....
I doubt if this generation of them understand it either, it would
just look like "Morse Code" to them.

So, the trend today, is to burn somebody's ass in public, that seems
to be a big favorite amongst the punk gun gangs that riddle the streets with
ot lead,.....definately not your Para/Police/Guvmint Persecuted Shooting
Range Paper Punching types.

Yeah. We need to get rid of these rogue cops and let the citizens take over
law enforcement.

Yes, I see your point. But one could hardly blame her, as this civil action
appears to be her only avenue to bring some sort of justice to this
incident.

Yes, bizarre is a good word to describe this whole incident. Even if this
shooting was somehow justifiable. The way he was treated after the shooting
was appalling. Even if the officers were still unsure of who was who. Once
they had neutralised the danger. Basic first aid training tells you to treat
the wounds and stabilise the wounded person. Dragging him about the place
like they did is unbelievably stupid.

Police should must never assume the person with the weapon is the bad guy
and should only shoot when their own life or the life of another is in
imminent danger. Twenty years ago, when I was in the police, I attended a
report of a stabbing in a nearby park. On arrival my partner and I
encounter a man holding another man a knife point. The apparent victim was
on
the ground and bleeding heavily from a knife wound to his lower leg. As it
turned out. The wounded person had attempted to rob this
guy and his girlfriend at knife point and in self defense he had produced
his
own knife. During the ensuring struggle, the offender was wounded. Not
everything is black and white.

Let's hope at least twelve others do. There's nothing worse in my opinion
than a bad cop, especially when they band together like this batch did. The
only shame here will be that it is the city's taxpayers who pay the bill for
them. Otherwise I'd say give the couple fifty mill. The homeowner should spend
the rest of his life laughing at these cops from a life of luxury. Six million
isn't enough, given his future medical problems.
