This is the fifth LibDem win out of six Camden by-elections, if I've
counted correctly. (The one by-election we didn't win was a Green gain
from the Tories, and the one I stood in as the LibDem candidate!) The
seat had been Conservative for many years prior to the last all-up
elections, and they put plenty of effort into trying to re-capture it,
including a visit by a Shadow Minister. But to no avail: despite Boris
getting a decent vote in the area, the local Tories are doing badly
when it comes to council seats.

The ward is part of the new, and marginal, seat of Hampstead &
Kilburn, consisting of most of Glenda Jackson's current Hampstead &
Highgate seat plus a chunk of Sarah Teather's Brent East seat.
Possible LibDem gain in the next General Election...?
