G20 over with. Well, that's part-one of Brown laying the ground-work for re-election. Part-two is the budget - which is a bit more tricky than the G20 meeting because the budget actually has to deliver something and will be appraised by a nation of stakeholders. So that will be difficult, but he'll put a few "sweeteners" in it. After the budget in April, he's done. He cant then do anything really tangible to promote his electoral prospects before he calls the election (apart from to spin everything the way New Labour does all the time anyway). So what will he do? Well, it looks like there'll be about 3m unemployed at Christmas. So the election could well be in May or June this year.
