The Society for Individual Freedom (www.individualist.org.uk) is
pleased to announce that its next guest speaker will be Dr Syed Kamall
MEP.
Writes Syed, "In May 2005, I became a Member of the European
Parliament. As someone who believes that competition and open markets
are the best way to generate wealth and economic growth, I was quite
sure that my free-market, classical liberal instincts would guide my
actions when voting on proposed European legislation. Alas, it has
not been quite that simple." Syed will explain why...

Syed Kamall is a Conservative Member of the European Parliament for
London. He is also a Visiting Fellow at Leeds University Business
School and has written a number of articles on the international
strategies of firms and foreign investment. He is also co-founder of
the Global Business Research Institute (www.gbri.org).
