Chickens found dead on a poultry farm in Norfolk have tested positive
for bird flu, Defra officials confirmed.

The virus was found in samples taken from the dead chickens at the farm
near Dereham, and remaining birds on the premises will now be
slaughtered.

Defra said tests are being carried out to determine the strain of the
virus, but preliminary results show it was the H7 form and not deadly
H5N1.
