Belly Dancing
I've taken it up & it's harder than it looks but great exercise &
seems to make everyone feel really good about themselves. We've been
told it originated for women's health, to assist in childbirth & was
done traditionally with a group of women together, not for men, so I
feel it's part of a healthy feminine, feminist tradition. Just
thought I'd mention it to the women in this group who might like to
give it a try if they haven't already done so.

Oh yes, heard of that. Long ago they had a weekly show here on our public
access channel. They did it for exercise, but I think there was also an
element of keeping hubby entertained. :) The only time I ever saw it for
real was in a Greek restaurant in Detroit. She flirted with my boss and
embarrassed him... it was priceless!

Hats off to you Chrissy! I have a friend who is a belly dancer
instructor. I've taken some of her classes and it's alot of fun. Great
for boosting the self esteem too! Often her and her group performs at
various places and we will go to see them. Have you ever seen a male
bellydancer? It's absolutely fantastic, let me tell you!

Well, yes. Most men have more belly to dance with!

Weaving in & out with the ribbon, yes I loved it, but it's hardly done
anymore. I hope you didn't mean the rude kind. <raises eyebrows>

I'd post a video of my belly having a dance but it's particularly
bloated at the moment due to ginger biscuit guzzling and I haven't got a
lens with a wide-enough angle :(

A video, of you, in full regalia would be too much, you are far too camp
:-)

I can't get my bellies to dance in step with each other . They're like a
bunch of uncoordinated nerds let loose on a dance floor.
