Before Loz pops up and thinks I was referring to his imaginary lady
friend, who is not a fox btw, it probably should have read "on his futon
ticking boxes" :-)

Are you saying that HL has never been supportive here? IMO he's a damn
sight more supportive than R.
R is a nasty little hypocritical shite who thinks it ok to kick you when
you are down and shows no tolerance or understanding when you feel shit
but then expects you to show him the compassion/tolerance/and
understanding he didn't give to you when he is down.

HL is infinitely more preferable than a bad mannered obnoxious oik like R.

Oi, Humble, I do not understand what on Earth you are on about here, but
if you do want to have a go at me, how about doing it in private email?

Better than fucking up the newsgroup even more than it already is fucked
up. Since I have you in my killfile, I read none of your posts in the
usual run of things so there's not a lot of point in making posts aimed
at having me read them. The reason for me having you in my killfile is
that I do not understand most of your posts.

It seems - my current guess - that no-one except your special friends
you talk to by email could possibly understand your posts here. Okay,
okay, if you must; I don't like that way of doing things, but there you
go. But don't fuck things up by being bitchy here, eh?

Rowland.

Get over yourself, you ignorant, ineffective little man, invites are not
needed :-)

if you used as much effort to get your life on track as you use emailing
the other lifers, bitching and whining, then you would have stopped
ticking those boxes long ago :-)

Oh dear, having a bad day are you?
There are too many posts to catch up with on a wet sunday morning, but
Rowland thinks you are talking about him when I think you mean me.
Your one-liners are bizarrely oblique but when you do string together a
few sentences, your point is still lost isn't it.
Chrissy dosen't bring me here, we have no contact. She don't like me
anymore innit, she will never belly dance for me at the Kasbah.
As for: "inviting someone in here who insists on driving suicidal
tendancies in people he doesn't perceive well", you mean the poster who
spent a couple of years posting the same codswallop about a girlfriend
who he cheated on blah blah blah, then posted one evening a series of
posts clearly to mislead the rest of you that he was dying as he typed,
that he was commiting suicide live online, Rowland fell for it hook,
line and sinker and got very excited, I knew it was fantasy and said so,
I told the liar to pack it in, just post normally and join in and that
is exactly what he is now doing, he was never suicidal and the subject
is dead. You are just too gulible.
As I type I'm just having a read of some the posts and you have really
turned on Rowland.
Now rather than post a "hi" or a pointless one-liner, also don't just
string together a few strange and dull sentences either, have the bottle
to name names, put together your point coherently, and be as wordy as
you like if you want to upset anyone in particular, but try and make it
entertainingly readable.

I'll show you how to be provocative and annoying based just on some
threads that I'm reading through that has Rowland in full throttle and
Nigel is exasperated, here goes:

Anyone in here a towel head? Any Islamic nutters, or females of that
faith who live in terror of their menfolk? Just an example, but I
understand that cesspit known as Luton is a festering hotbed of
freeloading illegal immigrants who want to slaughter us infidels -
Ship 'em out to Canada or convert to Islam - Anyone got an opinion?

Now just watch, if someone were to post a reply, then *another poaster*
who claims he has a magical killfile of which I am supposedly hidden in,
well he will join in the thread with his wordy pomposity, but he needs
someone else to start the replies, he cannot be seen to have actually
read mine or JD's, or SHT, Observer T, posts.
Try it, it is so easy to bait.

Remember, oblique one-liners are not only pointless, but dull.
Good luck.

You just haven't got the hang of baiting have you, he won't jump into
the thread unless you disect Ibsen, bang on about the pro's and con's of
Loz converting to towel headed Islam, well he is in Luton and it is
compulsory, he is now a Mullah. You have to include a link to the BBC
championing the the plus points of Aspergers (And they are, but you find
and post the link). If you poasted just to bait Rowland you will have to
do better than "I saw what you did".
Now try again.

I suspect he hates his job working with people having psychological
issues and feels powerless to do anything about it, so he comes here and
vents his frustrations on us so he can feel powerful again. He's just a
sad little man - ignore him.

I never ever did that but I do understand that you still believe I
did, 2 2 = ?

I always had a soft spot for you but you always saw my support to you
as some sort of master plan I had to form a 'gang' to take over this
group, you're an intelligent person, start thinking outside the box
you've made, consider the seemingly inconsiderable - that you may have
made a mistake?
At least you are being honest now in your attacks on people, I never
saw through your snide remarks to me until you shocked me with your
attacks on me.
Believe what you want but 2 things kid, I genuinely hope you can sort
your life out & see things more clearly than you seem to me to do &
secondly, I really don't care what you personally think of me other
than you do some personal work & realise it's at least possible that
some of your views may be warped by your own mind sets.

Take care & I mean that genuinely, of course, you may not be able to
accept that.

Cries of pot and kettle might well arise, but...

Look, I think humble's being a bit of a shit towards me at the moment,
and it's making this newsgroup a worse place. But what's the point in
me making any posts about that? Not a lot - anything I post will just
make something bad even worse.

And I'm really, really sure that it's unhelpful to chuck comments like
yours at him - I mean, I don't know what humble's up to most of the
time, but - well, it's not nice, digging at people like that and I think
it'd be nice if people here could be nice to each other, you know?

Rowland.

I'm sorry John, but psychologically healthy adults, ones that actually
have lives and don't suffer from petty insecurities, generally don't
hang out in depression newsgroups and harass people. Only a sad little
man would feel powerful by attacking others he deemed to be weaker than
himself. You are the Usenet version of a schoolyard bully, and you
really need to grow up, son.

(Son? No, you are human: you cannot have sired that creature)

Actually, it's a lot more cowardly than a schoolyard bully: a schoolyard
bully runs the risk of getting his head kicked in. Usenet trolls do not
- short of expensive and difficult detective work, it's nigh on
impossible to track these creatures down.

They hide behind false names and anonymous accounts and so on.

I mean, what sort of creature takes pleasure from persecuting the
mentally ill, eh?[1]

They're all sick saddos, every one of them.

Rowland.

Humble might not be supportive directly, but he rarely puts the boot in.

But sometimes he does. Thing is, Humble Life putting the boot in in his
most vicious fashion is less obnoxious than firemonkey's normal posting
style.

Humble dislikes me because I don't post one-liners like he does - don't
ask me why, but he dislikes people who make long posts. I do wish he'd
stop being nasty about it. I can't understand his posts and consider
them a complete waste of time, so I just ignore him. I don't feel any
need to get *nasty* about it, not like Humble does.

I like to think that I've never behaved as obnoxiously as firemonkey to
any person posting on Usenet - trolls, of course, not counting as
persons. For sure I'll drop criticism in at times, but always specific,
always directly to the person who's got things wrong.

I never post the sort of crass, baseless vileness that firemonkey's
spewing around the place - you'll notice that he's just made some
baseless claims about me, ranting about about Christ only knows what,
except that his complaint about me is not merely a lie, but is in fact
the criticism I levelled at him.

Amazing, really - I accuse firemonkey of something, and how does he
respond? Leaves things to fester for a while, and then vomits his angry
lies about me all over this newsgroup - accusing me of doing what I
caught him out at!

Go stick your head in a goat.

I view you with the same dislike that I formed years ago. You've got
nastier, if anything.

Why not just ignore me if you don't like my posts, eh? Why get nasty
about it? Do I make nasty posts about the fact that you've never
supported anyone here and almost never made a post worth making?

Do I get nasty about the fact that almost all your posts make no sense
at all, mostly because they mean nothing to people who are not part of
your special group of friends whom you keep in contact with via email?
The rest of us stand no chance understanding your posts, do we? Do I
get nasty about your cliquiness? No, I just ignore it.

And how do you respond in return? You just get nasty. Humble, this
place is supposed to be for *support*. If you get the urge to put the
boot in to a non-troll posting here, just don't do it.

Rowland.

Yeah. Well, I can pretend it doesn't bother me and just ignore the
jerks, but I'm lying to myself. I used to enjoy coming here and
chatting, but now it just makes me tired. I don't need this - it's not
helping and I don't want to do it anymore. If the trolls are trying to
drive people away, they are succeeding. I think I've about had enough.

<grin> But I *can* ignore 'em - well, most of the time. Sometimes I
see their posts quoted... Killfile, that's the trick.

Killfiles are the answer.

Not quite everyone - they need just enough people left for them to play
`prod the loony and watch him howl'.

On the other hand, if there were a decent number of decent posters here
who didn't encourage the trolls to stay (you hear me, Chrissy and Loz
and humble life?) but told 'em to sod off and/or ignored them, then the
trolls would go away.

The trolls here have followed me to some of the other newsgroups I
infest. They were seen off instantly in both cases, because those
newsgroups are full of Usenet-savvy people who know how to spot a troll
and what to do with one.

For some reason, rather a lot of posters here like encouraging the
trolls by engaging them in conversation.

And *one* of that lot - Loz - has the gall to suggest that I'm
encouraging the scum to stay! Loz, no, it's *YOU* who is doing that,
you silly sod.

> I think I've about had enough.

If you got yourself a newsreader with a kill file/block list/something
of that nature, then you'd be able to avoid their posts entirely.

I can recommend MacSoup or Nemo. Both need a, erm, Mac (on the other
hand, MacSoup will run on almost any Mac you're likely to find in the
wild these days, no matter how old or clunky).

Rowland.

You can sometimes be a right prat Rowland, you haven't got anyone
killfiled, you dare not risk missing a single word posted, you find me
compulsive reading - you're hooked.
And CJD uses Windows Mail which is without doubt the best client
currently available, unfortunately it is exclusive to the awful Vista.
But if he wants to filter any poaster he has the best client for the
task, but he won't, he too is addicted.

CJ, CJ. Buck up old chap. You have a bad case of Rowlanditis. It's caused
by getting too close to Rowland, but fortunately it's easily cured. Just
put Rowlie in your kill file with the trolls. I wish Rowland would post a

No, you are not.

When you say those who "actually have lives and don't suffer from petty
insecurities? do you mean those who don't have blogs, spewing out their
insecurities? You know the type, the sort who mentally abuse their
children to the extent that one day the said children may rise up and
strike down the abusers.

Well, that the trouble, Rowland has been causing problems here for years
by attacking others he deemed to be weaker than himsel, you being new to
our group and quite enamoured by Rowland's flattery obviously turn a
blind eye and the other cheek, but you seem to have described him quite
well.

CJ, Rowland has taught you well, deny all self-faults and turn the blame
onto your victims.

You won't get rid of me CJ, I never give in to bullies like you and the
rest of Rowland's sycophants. I will continue to help the lifers here
the best way I know, you may call it tough love, but it works. Now go
and sit in the corner you ineffective little man and think about the
harm you are causing to our support group, we don't need the likes of
you messing things up :-)

Why do you say that, Rowland, is it because I have never whacked him
with a baseball bat :-)

Well you do, Rowland, you have recently been having a go at Tim, loz and
Humble, you can't hide your persecution of Tim behind one post
pretending to be supportive, we all know that was just to give Tim a
false sense of security so that he will start to reply to you again :-)

You most certainly are :-)

Ah, one of your favourite rants, what a loon :-)
