Erm, no, vengeance just makes things worse. Anyway, Cressida Dick was
the officer in charge of that operation, and if anyone's in the frame
for `fault', it's her.
They're all denying it was anyone's fault - fuck that, they shot dead an
innocent, something went wrong, there was a failure in the system
designed to protect the public from the police. If it was a procedural
fault, then whoever was responsible for the procedure is at fault.
Which is, admittedly, probably the Chief Constable who, yes okay, that
was Ian Blair.

It's not bourgeois, it's an upper class political sham, scam, put up
job, and all round con. There is no real democracy in the USA. The
mass media is all controlled by rich corporations that are controlled by
the same interests that control the political parties. That means you
can't have democracy working.

Democratic rights? What democratic rights? Almost all our human rights
are very ancient, dating back to centuries before anyone made the (even
now false) claim that these septic isles were run democratically.
Which they're not - never mind the USA's problems: democracy means that
the people have the power to legislate. We don't have that power.
We don't even have the power to select a government: that is done by the
Prime Minister, who is appointed by the monarch - democracy? Don't make
me laugh. The only people who voted for Bliar were his constituents in
Sedgefield; ditto Broon. And yet we've had both as PM...

So if someone gets rich, you'll hate them if they then enjoy themselves
with their money in fashions that don't involve tedious dinner parties,
mixing with `the right people' and being seen at Royal Ascot? That
makes sense. It's much less reprehensible to have your driver drop you
off in the Bentley in the West End for you to be rude to waiters while
failing to enjoy a hideously expensive meal in bad company.
(mind you, the waiters probably deserve it)

All other species just wipe out anything that gets in their way. We set
up conservation zones. Not such incessant greed and stupidity as you
might think.

It's not bullshit: Ferrari's current policy is to make their cars more
efficient, and they're actually doing it using conventional engineering
techniques such as making 'em lighter and smaller. Energy recovery
devices will turn up too, as in Formula 1 racing.

Have you ever seen someone getting their head kicked in? It's not so
easy to do something, you know. If you want to get angry about someone
ending up dead violently and far too young, try this:

I see - so because government policy means that armed forces personnel
have to do shitty things to foreigners (not dropping bombs on Iraqi
civilians, I wouldn't have thought), then those same armed forces
personnel should be treated like shit by that same government?
That's nice.
I have connections. Homes for armed forces families are strange.
Before you move out of any MOD-supplied accomodation, you have to pass
a white glove inspection (at least you do if you're in the army): those
homes are shiny and squeaky clean when they're moved out of, in the
general case. That means `Move out one day, spend the next day in the
old house cleaning and scrubbing and making good'.
But they are always filthy and squalid when you move into them.
No-one knows why, but everyone knows that the accomodation is normally
vile when you move in, and it's a dead cert that the MOD is lying when
it said there were no problems when the accomodation was inspected.

Pakistan has the ability to make or break the `war on terror', holds the
trump cards, and is in such a strong position regarding the USA that
before he left, Musharraf actually got threated by the Yanks if he
didn't comply with their demands: they threatened to bomb Pakistan back
into the stone age if he didn't cave in.

I bet you're a lot more stupid and boring than you think she is.
Authors are generally not like that - aside from the Martin Amises and
Salman Rushdies of this world, that is.

No, the reason he can't do that is that due to the way US politics
works, people don't vote on policies but on who they would prefer to
have round for dinner.
(which means that Obama, being off-white, runs into the whole
slavery/racism problem - you might prefer his policies, but you're not
having a nigger round for dinner... The USA has this problem worse than
almost anywhere, due to the uniquely vile form of slavery that it
defiled the world with.)
It's somewhat similar everywhere you look, but in countries like the UK
it's more whether you think they'd be any bloody good at the job -
although John Major lost votes from women because he's just not sexy on
screen and women don't fancy him unless he's in front of you and turning
on the charm (okay, maybe he's a bit too old these days).
Some might call that approach irrational. I say not: it's irrational to
pay much attention to policy promises, since pre-election promises are
mostly lies. What you need to do is assess their character - how much
bullshit are we getting? What do we think they are *really* going to
do? And can the buggers hack it, eh?
