Anyone actually tried the Mayr Health Clinic (in Austria)
Hi
A friend of mine who had long-standing CFS/Candida type problems
seems to have received massive benefit from staying at the
Mayr Health Spa (http://www.golfhotel.at/english/the-cure.php)
and consequently completely RAVES about the place.
It appears to be a therapy based on Austrian physician Dr. Franz Xaver
Mayr's
work (1875 - 1965). It clearly focuses very much on digestion, with
the
theory being that digestive problems can cause all manner of symptoms
Being as Dr Mayr died 40 years ago, the central ideas of the place
clearly are NOT new and if it REALLY worked, then presumably we would
have all heard of the place by now! However:
a) it is fairly expensive (c.£1000 per week all in)
b) It is fairly SLOW (3 weeks for me apparently)
c) Maybe it has a following in Austria but nowhere else?
b) Maybe the new head doctor (Dr. Ingo Wachernig) has refined /
improved
the ideas of Dr Mayr... !
....But I can find VERY LITTLE about the clinic available online.
- Anyhow I would love to hear from anyone who has tried the place!
With thanks

P.S. The patient's health background:
Am in superfically good health but have suffered from (mainly mental)
fatigue for
about 15 years.
Age c. 45, male, am fairly physically fit (bicycles c.1 hour/day), not
over weight
6ft, 12stones weight. Has been diagnosed with sub-clinical reactive
hypo-glycemia, have suspected low thryroid problems (e.g. low body
temperature
1st thing in AM). Have a variety of Candida-type symptoms including
recurrent
fungus on feed, groin & back, floaters in the eyes, Central Serous
Retinopathy
Various food sensitivities (e.g. wheat causing a 10-15 BPM increase in
hear rate)
facial flushing & peeling of skin on chin. Reading & memory
difficulties. Fuzzy
headed-ness. Slightly/moderately bloated abdomen. Very variable stool
consistency
but generally overly soft (albeit mostly without being actually
watery). Sweating
palms & feet. Cortisol stress test by spittle revealed cortisol
management problems
(both too high & too low within the same day). Usually I feel
absolutely fine instantly when I take stimulants (e.g. alcohol,
caffeine even adrenaline) in the short run, that is!
P.P. S. Before you ask, please believe me that this is a sincere and
honest posting and I have no connection of any sort with the Mayr
clinic. i.e. This NOT and advertisement for the Mayr Health Spa. And no
I can't actually PROVE that statement without showing you my bank
statements... and no I'm not going to do that either! My only
connection is that I am toying with the idea of going there.
P.P.S.
Dr. Kevin Alen ( MAT), "physician, nutritionist, Mayr specialist from
USA" seems to have a competing web site that offers Mayr type therapy
in the French Riviera: http://www.mayrtherapy.com
